On August 19, 2024, a South Korean media outlet, Sports Seoul released details from a phone interview with MBC producer-director (PD) Kim Myung-jin. The PD discussed Jin's participation in his variety show It's a Good Thing To Take A Rest.
The director revealed that the K-pop star not only took part in the crew's dinner but also quietly paid for the entire meal after the filming concluded. Kim Myung-jin pointed out that the appeal of this BTS member extends beyond his visual appearance.
He noted that the true essence of the 'worldwide handsome' title lies in the combination of both his looks and his impressive personality. Kim PD said:
"Jin must have been busy, but he voluntarily participated in the company dinner after filming. He even secretly paid the bill."

PD Kim Myung-jin gives more insights of BTS' Jin on MBC's I'm Glad You Got a Good Rest
The MBC reality show I'm Glad You Got a Good Rest, also known as Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island or 푹 쉬면 다행이야 (Puk Swimyeon Dahaengiya in Korean), stars Ahn Jung-hwan, a South Korean TV personality and former soccer player.
The series showcases Ahn as he transforms a deserted house on a remote island and invites viewers to experience a unique stay on an uninhabited island.
PD Kim expressed feeling some pressure due to the idol's global stardom but praised his genuine and pleasant demeanor. He noted that the show’s setting on a deserted island with minimal direction led to many unpredictable situations.
Despite those circumstances, the Abyss singer performed admirably and showed no signs of exhaustion. The Kim PD said:
"I felt burdened because Jin is such a world star. However, he is really pure and has a good personality. Since our program is set on a deserted island and minimizes directing to pursue realism, there are many unpredictable situations, but he did his best without complaint."
Kim noted that the artist's appearance on the show created a lot of excitement from the very beginning. He said there were comments in foreign languages like Spanish and Russian that appeared on the pre-released video, which required translation for the first time. He said:
"It's already become a hot topic, and there were a lot of comments from foreigners on the pre-released video. There were comments in Spanish, Russian, etc., so I translated the comments for the first time while directing. I had to think about the English name of the program. (Laughs) It was amazing."
Kim also humorously mentioned the difficulty of choosing an English name for the show as he expressed his amazement at the overwhelming response.
As the first BTS member to return from military service, the artist was reported to be filming various content for his fans, including Run Jin. He is working with high-end brands such as Gucci and FRED, and is also gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated solo debut album.
