In his tributary message to Shin Hae-chul, BTS' j-hope referred to him as the eternal king of the music industry. He further expressed his dejection for not participating and performing at the tribute concert and mentioned, as translated by X user @sevenrchive:
"A tribute concert was held in honor of the 10th anniversary of the late Shin Hae-chul, the eternal king of the music industry. I heard that many fellow artists, including those who were inspired by this remarkable senior, are participating in this tribute concert."
He elaborated that it was unfortunate for him to not participate in the concert due to personal scheduling. However, he said that he would be present at the tribute concert with all his heart. He stated that he sincerely hoped the event would become meaningful for all the artists and the members present. He concluded his statement with a thank you.
Subsequently, BTS' j-hope's video message for the legendary singer Shin Hae-chul's memorial concert circulated on social media and went viral. The fandom was overwhelmed with the male artist's dedication towards his senior, and an X user tweeted:

After concluding eighteen weeks of duty, BTS' j-hope was discharged from his mandatory military service on October 17, 2024. He is the second member of the septet to conclude the conscription. He was warmly greeted by fellow bandmate Jin with a bouquet, ARMYs, and media houses.
Following his discharge, the male artist took to the South Korean social media platform Weverse. He began a live broadcast and interacted with the fans.
