Gong Yoo to star alongside Song Hye-kyo in upcoming Netflix Series

Following the success of Squid Game 2 and The Trunk, Gong Yoo has started working on a new project. He and Song Hye-kyo began filming their latest drama, Slowly Intense (literal translation), on January 12. This marks Hye-kyo's third collaboration with screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung. The drama will explore the broadcasting world of the 1960s and 1970s.

This highly anticipated Netflix series, with a reported budget exceeding 70 billion won, explores the lives of stars and the creators behind them. It consists of 22 episodes and reunites Song Hye-kyo with writer Noh, following their work on The World They Live In and That Winter, the Wind Blows.

Song Hye-kyo shared that the story is set in the 60s and 70s. Additionally, the actress has spoken about her long-standing connection with Noh, expressing her gratitude during a recent appearance on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block. She revealed that she practiced journaling twice daily for five years at Noh’s suggestion, reflecting on the importance of self-love and seeing the world more positively.

Slowly Intense marks a reunion for Gong Yoo with director Lee Yoon-jung, famous for Coffee Prince. This collaboration adds to the anticipation for the project, which is set to finish filming in the first half of the year and will be released globally on Netflix.
