“He reached this milestone in the most organic way”: Fans react as BTS' Jimin becomes first K-soloist to have two songs with over 1.3B Spotify streams

On January 5, 2024, BTS' Jimin became the first and only K-pop soloist in history to have two songs with over 1.3 billion streams on Spotify. The BTS member achieved the latest milestone with his two solo tracks, namely Like Crazy and WHO. While the former belongs to his first solo studio album, FACE, the latter is from his second album, MUSE.

Jimin’s track WHO surpassed the 1.3 billion mark most recently, after Like Crazy exceeded it in October 2024. The idol’s former track became the fastest song by an Asian and K-pop act to surpass this number.

BTS' Jimin’s admirers were thrilled with his latest achievement. As a result, his fans flooded the internet with love and admiration for the idol. To express this, one user on X stated:

“AMAZING. And it's even greater bcz he reached this milestone in the most organic way possible, without any support from his company. CONGRATULATIONS JIMIN”

Many other mixed responses for BTS' Jimin’s latest accomplishment were seen online. While many seemed proud of the idol’s success, others referred to him as the “main pop boy.”

Some described him as a “record breaker” and “history maker,” while others referred to him as a “king.”

BTS' Jimin’s WHO crossed the 1.1 billion mark on Spotify in November 2024

On November 29, Jimin's 2024 solo release WHO surpassed 1.1 billion streams on Spotify. The music streaming service additionally announced the achievement on its social networking sites.

Park Jimin's WHO has become the fastest male solo song and the fastest solo track by an Asian artist to reach 1.1 billion streams in Spotify's history. The BTS member's song achieved this accomplishment in 133 days, exceeding the prior record held by Harry Styles' As It Was (135 days). WHO was released on July 19, 2024.

Additionally, on December 12, 2024, Jimin's independent song Like Crazy was recognized as one of the 'Most Performed Songs of the Year' at the BMI London Awards 2024.

Jimin’s FACE album track was recognized as one of the most aired songs on terrestrial radio, satellite radio, and digital streaming platforms in 2023. His track joined BTS' Dynamite as the only two tracks by K-pop acts to attain this distinction. Like Crazy came out in March 2023.


As of this writing, BTS' Jimin is fulfilling his military duties and is projected to be discharged in June this year.
