BTS' Jin takes to Weverse to wish fans for Lunar New Year
BTS’ Jin’s last solo Weverse live took place in October 2024 to celebrate the release of the extended version of Super Tuna. During the session on October 11, he also took the opportunity to wish his bandmate Jimin an early happy birthday. Later, he teamed up with fellow member j-hope for a joint Weverse live in late December 2024 to send warm holiday greetings to fans.
Since then, Jin hasn’t gone live, but he has kept fans entertained with his solo variety show, Run Jin, which airs weekly. His recent Lunar New Year wish on Weverse delighted fans, bringing joy to the fan community as they eagerly await more updates from him.
The Lunar New Year in 2025 falls on Wednesday, January 29, with the official holiday period in Korea starting Monday, January 27. However, as of Saturday, January 25, the festivities have unofficially begun, making it the perfect time for the star to extend his heartfelt greetings.
In the message, Jin expressed his warm wishes for the New Year. He cheerfully asked if everyone had been doing well and admitted he had been unsure about how to greet them for the occasion. As a result, he said he missed the right moment and hadn’t been able to reach out as often as he wanted.
He then wished everyone lots of good fortune, happiness, and success in the New Year, even playfully hoping they would all become rich. He ended his message by wishing them a Happy New Year in his signature cute and cheerful style. The idol shared:
"Hello everyone this is Jin, Are all of you guys doing well? I was worried about what kind of greeting should I give you guys for New Year's and missed the time so I couldn't visit you guys frequently..I wish you guys a lot of good fortune for the New Year and I hope you have (a year full of) good things and become rich [cutely]. Happy New Year you guys."
In another gesture of generosity, Jin reportedly donated 100 million KRW to Korea University Medical Center on January 23, 2025. The funds are intended to support the treatment of patients with incurable diseases in underdeveloped countries. He is already a member of the UNICEF Honors Club for his cumulative donations exceeding 100 million KRW.
