On August 11, 2024, South Korean media outlet Naver reported that a horse named in honor of BTS's Taehyung, also known as V, made headlines by securing first place at a Japanese horse race.

The horse, named 'Geumshirakko,' clinched victory at the Japanese Sunday Horse Racing Championship. According to the Japan Racing Association (JRA), 'Geumshirakko' achieved this win at Nikita Racecourse in Japan, marking its return to competition after a two-week hiatus.

The racehorse's success has garnered significant attention among BTS fans, highlighting V's growing impact.

For those unfamiliar, '그므시라꼬' (Geumshirakko) is a phrase from the Gyeongsang dialect, meaning "What's the big deal?" It conveys the idea that even in the face of challenges, things aren't as serious as they might seem.

Fans of the idol flocked to social media to discuss the widespread impact of the Singularity singer across various domains. On X, a user wrote,

"HELP??? he is really THAT idol huh"
"You'll find his fans and resemblance in every corner of the world. He's so loved, he has soo many big fans DAMNNNNN," a fan wrote.
"Are these horses owned by the same person bec woah... even more amazing if it is owned by different people," a user on X commented.
"When we say impact & popularity this is actually what it means; Your presence is felt and acknowledged in different types of areas BEYOND your main field," another fan remarked.

Fans also shared how this simple phrase can hold deep significance.

"Papa Kim thank you for saying those words to Taetae “it’s not a big deal” Taehyung The Inspiration," an X user wrote.
"If I’m not mistaken it was his dad who taught him about “it’s not a big deal”. They as a family is inspiring Tae sets the stand," another fan commented.

From Layover to WinterBear- racehorses inspired by BTS' Taehyung shine at Japanese Championship

The racehorse's achievement has drawn considerable attention, showcasing the impact of the singer-songwriter. Within the Japan Central Racing Association, five horses are reportedly named inspired by Taehyung.

These include Geumshirakko, Layover, which is the title of Taehyung's debut solo album, and his self-penned tracks like Winter Bear and Sweet Night, along with 'Borahae,' a term he created for his fans by blending 'Bora,' meaning purple, with 'Saranghae,' meaning love in Korean.

The Love Me Again singer had previously shared that during tough times, he drew comfort from the expression Geumshirakko, which his father used to say to him. In episode 56 of the group's variety show, RUN BTS, the members went camping and shared self-written poems.

When it was Taehyung's turn, he titled his poem "Geumshirakko." In his poem, he reassured each member that it is perfectly okay to make minor mistakes, to feel shy, and not to be overly critical of oneself, emphasizing that, ultimately, it's not a big deal.

This incident highlighted Taehyung's popularity and influence in Japan. Additionally, it's worth noting that the BTS star is an accomplished horse rider, having first learned the skill for his role in the drama Hwarang, which required him to ride horses.
