On Friday, October 18, 2024, BTS' Jung Ho-seok aka j-hope posted a picture of certificates he earned during his military service for exemplary performance on Instagram. He posted this picture after he was officially discharged from the military on October 17.

Reportedly, the certificates were awarded to him when the BTS idol became a squad leader, training assistant, Special Warrior Elite Soldier, and Strong Army Warrior Winner, among others.

One of the certificates was for his outstanding service in the military as a Peer Counselor, who provided guidance to recruits and listened to their grievances. The screenshot of his Instagram story went viral online as fans lauded the ARSON singer-songwriter's achievements from his 18 months of mandatory service.

A fan called him an "ace" for achieving several accolades during his service, and wrote on X:

"He's an ace, everywhere he goes he slay."

Supporters shared the post on the internet, celebrating j-hope's accomplishments and praising him for his hard work in carrying out his required conscription.

"Besides ALL the roles we already know, Hobi was also a PEER COUNSELOR in his squad. Apparently, Corporals/Sergeants that have the required skills, receive special training. Their role is to listen to soldiers in their squad talk about their grievances and give them counseling," a fan wrote.
"The ACE title is well earned. Ho-seok is a committed, dedicated and focused man and he does everything with love. You are an example to follow and we are very proud of you," another fan wrote.
"Are these honors/awards/commendations?? He’s so exemplary in everything he does! Diligence, professionalism, pride in his work, and a positive attitude. And TALENT. An Ace in all of his endeavors," one other fan added.

Others took note of his Instagram story description, where J-hope wrote, "Let's get to working!". Fans compared him to Jin of BTS, who began working as soon as he was discharged from the military in June 2024.

"My husband in Christ,I know you're workaholic but can you rest for another day pls?? You just got back yesterday," a fan said.
"Is Hobi going to follow Jin's steps and whirlwind into action right away??" another fan remarked.
"What is it with these two overachiever, not enjoying any break slowly?" another fan added.

BTS' j-hope returns after fulfilling his mandatory military service

Jung Ho-seok aka j-hope of BTS enlisted in the Republic of Korea Army (R.O.K.A.) on April 18, 2023. After serving for 18 months, he was officially discharged from the Wonju Army Training Center in Gangwon province. Upon his discharge, HYBE's share value reportedly rose 7% in the early afternoon trade.

The Grammy-nominated musician dropped his debut solo album, Jack in The Box, on July 14, 2022. Ahead of his enlistment in April, he dropped his solo single, On The Street (feat. J. Cole) on March 3, 2023. The track has amassed over 192.5 million streams on Spotify.

Later, his agency BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Labels), dropped his pre-recorded second solo album, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1, on March 29, 2024. The album arrived with its second solo docu-series by the same name. The six-part docu-series was released on Prime Video on March 28, 2024.

In other news, BTS' Namjoon, Taehyung, Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga couldn't get leave from their ongoing enlistment to attend j-hope's military discharge.

Reportedly, North Korea's hostility towards South Korea where the former blasted roads and railways connecting to the South, caused the military to cancel all sanctioned leaves and call back their soldiers.
