Kim Namjoon of BTS became a topic of an online debate after he restored his Instagram feed by unarchiving several posts on both accounts, @rkive and @rpwprpwprpwp. On September 15, 2024, several fans noted the change and flooded social media with their conjectures about whether the BTS leader was allegedly dating someone.

This led to a hypothesis by some fans that the rapper-songwriter might have been dating another man. On September 12, the BTS leader celebrated his 30th birthday and posted several pictures on his Instagram.

One of the pictures was with a man, however, RM hid his face with a ghost emoji. Previously, the idol used to post pictures of himself with another male and would reportedly constantly hide his identity by using an emoji to cover his face.

Fans were quick to jump to conclusions and speculated that the idol's second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, was full of lyrics where he spoke about his heartbreak. They assumed that Namjoon suddenly shaving his head in August 2023, archiving several posts on Instagram, and writing a full-length album on breakups might allegedly be linked to his personal dating life.

Hence, when fans noticed that he allegedly unarchived several old photos, they wrote,

"And he's so DRAMATIC about it too. Like imagine all this from a guy's pov"

Fans highlighted and claimed that Namjoon's alleged "situationship" with another man was the reason he wrote his second album. They joked about Namjoon getting back into a relationship with the mysterious man.

"The way he unarchived all these pics too like he never deleted them in case they got back together again lmaoo. He knew he was gonna go back to him my man is LONG GONE," another fan said excitedly.
"Ppl calling it situationship when namjoon was going on trips with him Everywhere, meeting the parents, and he dramatically removed all traces of him at one point, shaved his head, and now they're back??? like baby i know what your fave chappell roan song is," another fan joked.
"Joon gotta catch a grip bc how do you delete all ur posts with this guy, buzz all ur hair off, post bad religion, go on live talking bout some dont get into shitty relationship problems just to post with a guy & a ghost emoji," one fan added.

Some fans were however, displeased with the viral fan theories regarding the Groin rapper-songwriter's alleged dating life. They also claimed that the rapper unarchived these posts several months ago.

"He unarchived everything months ago and the fact that y’all are only noticing now bc you need new drama says a lot," a fan highlighted on X.
"We should start putting community notes on these armys tweets when they lie, they are pissing me off. Can't stream but will be on the forefront to talk about his personal life," another fan expressed disappointment.
"Like we don’t have enough drama out here on the daily, do we really need to do this on top of it," one other fan questioned.
