BTS' Jin gathering food on a new island location in the next episode of Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island
On August 20, ahead of the still cuts, a preview for the latest episode was launched on the MBCentertainment YouTube channel. Its title revealed that the BTS member is shocked over CEO Ahn's "new adventure."
The video showcases the members embarking on a new journey while CEO Ahn makes a surprise announcement. The 35-second snippet shows Jin alongside everyone hunting for ingredients among thick greenery in an unknown environment. The crew is then shown adrift together, seemingly on a mission.
The scene quickly shifts, with the caption noting Jin's "mental breakdown". Audiences are left to wonder what's in store for the Pukdahaeng (shortened name of the show) Universe.
Simultaneously, the MBC Entertainment report offers a broader glimpse into what viewers can look forward to in the upcoming episode. The program's cast, CEO Ahn Jung-hwan, Kim Nam-il, Jin of BTS, B1A4's Sandeul, chef Lee Yeon-bok, and Lee Hong-woon, ride a boat, headed for an unknown island exploration.
The surprise announcement is disclosed as CEO Ahn states he is "preparing to open a second branch" of the 0.5-star hotel, much to the shock of the ensemble. The Village Chief aka CEO Ahn has a criteria for selecting the next spot for the second branch. It should have diverse food options and natural bliss combined. CEO Ahn states:
"We will focus on whether it is a place with a variety of food and where you can experience the natural environment."
Dropping the anchor at the candidate island, the workers feel a sense of despair at the desolate atmosphere, unlike in their older branch. However, CEO Ahn sees potential, having already revamped the first 0.5-star deserted island from its ruins to its present thriving state.
He reportedly ignites hope for a variety of foods, pointing out how the island has a natural environment allowing food to be served all 24 hours a day, which was not possible on the first island.
The new teaser, released on August 24, catches the team drifting to a crab trap spot. The BTS member lowers the trap into the water, accidentally splashing some on CEO Ahn, as he did unknowingly in the first episode. Ahn Jung-hwan splashes water back at Jin, apologizing with playful sarcasm, while the latter laughs.
According to Nielsen Korea (a TV ratings research company), the first episode of Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island featuring BTS' Jin which aired on August 19, achieved a nationwide household viewership rating of 6.4%, setting a new personal record for its highest ratings to date.
Meanwhile, the previous episode of Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island saw the Moon singer and his close friend B1A4's Sandeul reaching the first deserted island. CEO Ahn instantly alerted them of the work awaiting them.
BTS' Jin not only built bamboo structures, but he also handled the odorous mackerel, cooked food, and went diving and fishing, among other things. He also won over CEO Ahn's heart as he received several compliments from the former during the episode.
