On November 1, 2024, GQ Japan released its latest magazine cover, featuring Jin as their cover star for the December 2024 edition. The initial teasers of the latest cover were posted by the social media handles of the fashion magazine on October 24.
Subsequently, GQ Japan released video clips and various cover photos of BTS’ Jin, along with an exclusive interview. In the interview, Jin, aka Kim Seokjin, touched on several topics related to his fans, his pre-performance routine, his military service experience, and more.
Furthermore, the K-pop idol was asked what makes for effective teamwork. He was also requested to share tips for efficient team communication.
“BTS is known for being close. As teamwork is essential, I believe there must be times where maintaining a good atmosphere is hard. Please tell us tips on how you communicate smoothly,” the question in the interview read.

To this, the I'll Be There vocalist responded by emphasizing the importance of the group's leader, as he discussed Namjoon's place as BTS' leader. He added that Namjoon, aka RM, listens carefully and then offers suggestions, which is the best way to manage a team.
“In our case, I think our leader RM's role is significant. He listens carefully to each of our opinions, then suggests and leads us to the best way/solution. He's reliable and trustworthy. Me and RM, both have things we'd like to do, but we don't assert them strongly in group activities, so instead, we'd like to/we prefer to reflect them in our solo projects,” Jin stated.
Jin talks about his source of ideas and inspiration
During the same interview, the BTS member also revealed his source of inspiration and ideas. He claimed that he finds inspiration in unexpected places and at odd times, such as while walking or reading comic books. He said:
“In my case, I get inspiration and ideas from unexpected things. For example, when I'm reading comics and I think 'it's a beautiful colour,' I immediately dye my hair into that colour. If something interesting comes into my sight while I'm walking, I wonder whether I can do something like a surprise event with it."
He went on to comment that colors inspire him a lot, and he expressed a preference for blue. The Super Tuna singer added:
"I get inspired a lot by colours. I especially like blue and when I see that colour, I come up with many bright thoughts. It's my belief to be in a bright and happy mood in life. I want to be laughing/smiling every day.”
The BTS idol also shared his pre-performance routine. Jin was asked to explain a routine he might have before going on stage, to which he responded:
“I take a big deep breath right before going on stage. I hold my breath for about 10 seconds and breathe out. By doing this, it makes me feel relaxed. Also, my own special pink sparkling mic. I like it so I carry it around with me all the time."
The Awake vocalist also encouraged his fans. As the youth voice, he was asked to address his admirers during the interview. Subsequently, he advised his supporters to be calm and find happiness amid the chaos.
