On January 17, 2025, the South Korean media outlet Edaily reported that YG Entertainment would establish a project organization solely dedicated to BLACKPINK's comeback and world tour in the present year. The latest news sparked a divided reaction from the K-pop Community.
According to the publication, the agency has announced that it will reorganize its business structure to emphasize its major business of music. As a result, it will conclude its actor management business. The record label has completed the necessary preparations, including the formation of an internal separate project organization for the female girl group.
Subsequently, the latest news circulated on social media and went viral among the fandom. They expressed their disappointment that YG Entertainment was recognizing the band's worth only now.
"he’s only seeing their worth now?? if he did this on their 3rd year we would’ve had more song," an X user tweeted.
The fandom stated that it was sad that YG Entertainment started working for the benefit of the endeavors for BLACKPINK after nine years. They expected that the agency would treat them in a better manner. Many also wished they would get a better promotion for their much-anticipated comeback.
"This company finally realized that the girls can still have so much success own their own without them and who actually depends on who so they decided to potentially treat them fairly. Well it was long overdue. Hope they’ll have better treatment this time," a fan reacted.
"Yay YG finally started to do something about the girls it is sad that it took them 9 years," a fan shared.
"I hope they get a better stage design this time around, the first stage design for the Born Pink tour was kinda small for the stadium shows," a fan commented.
"YG is rushing this tour! Just give them first a good promotion for this comeback," a fan mentioned.
Many fans demanded from YG Entertainment that they should release fifteen songs, have high-quality music videos, a reality show, proper promotions, decent music video set up, and other features for the band.
"We want at least 15 songs, high quality mvs for those songs, high quality dp, a reality show, them IN korean/international shows, PROPER F*CKING PROMOTIONS, world tour WITH GOOD SET UPS LIKE COME ON THEY'RE THE BIGGEST GG AND NO LED WALLS FOR THE FARTHEST VIEWERS," a user reacted.
"it's crazy how it took yg this many years to do this to a popular group like bp lmao. it took that they all left the company to finally realize their importance," a user shared.
"I want BLACKPINK money to be invested only for their comeback, their MV production, their tour sponsoring, their schedules and everything related to them. Everything should be massive, not repeated redundant outfits thru out the tour like last time," a user mentioned.
"Realistically speaking, I want this to be like the album era, A pre release, 2nd single with collab or not idc, and album release with the title track, a decent promo and not like the born pink era where they immediately toured," a user commented.
