On June 25, BIGHIT MUSIC dropped a poster of BTS Kim Taehyung's upcoming photobook ‘TYPE 1’, creating much excitement among fans. The agency released a teaser of the photo book and the magazine of TYPE 1 showcasing the cover.
The photobook cover displayed a black-and-white picture of Kim Taehyung, where he is seen leaning against a wall with no shirt on as a beaming light falls on him. Meanwhile, on the other cover, the Layover singer is seemingly smiling on a beach. The photobook will be available in two versions: the Photobook version and the Magazine version.
The news of the photobook release quickly took over the internet as the agency unveiled the details of the content and the release date through Weverse on June 26. According to the notice, the BTS vocalist has contributed extensively to making the photobook for ARMYs.

He participated in the planning, production, and picking of the travel destination for the photo shoot, as well as working on the title of the book. The photobook consists of 224 pages of memories, which V has made to gift his fans.
Notably, July 9, which is the scheduled release date of the photobook, is celebrated as the birth anniversary of BTS’ Fandom ARMY, every year. Netizens took to social media to share their thoughts on the hard work put in by the artist for this upcoming project.

On June 26, BIGHIT MUSIC revealed the details of BTS’ V's TYPE 1 photobook on Weverse, which contains a 224-page book showcasing exclusive images for the fans featuring Kim Taehyung and was curated alongside other items like a bookmark, a postcard set, photo stickers, and cutty stickers.
BIGHIT MUSIC stated,
“This photobook captures V’s moments of complete rest, revealing his comfortable and natural self as he takes a break from his busy schedule to enjoy some time alone.”
They further added,
“Not only will each chapter in the photobook help you learn more about V, or Kim Taehyung, in depth, the photobook will serve as a precious addition to your collection.”
TYPE 1 photobook release date
The pre-order date for the TYPE 1 photobook will start at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. KST. The official release date is announced to be July 29, KST, and will be available on Weverse Global. It will be available on Weverse Japan and UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN on July 26, KST. On July 30, 2024, PDT, the photobook will be released on Weverse Shop US.
TYPE 1 magazine release date
On the other hand, the TYPE 1 magazine version contains 152 pages of photographs; however, it does not showcase some chapters that will be available in the photobook version. Fans can start pre-ordering the magazine version on June 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. KST.
The TYPE 1 magazine will be officially released on August 6, 2024, KST, on Weverse Shop Global. The magazine will be available on August 27 PDT on Weverse Shop US and August 30 KST on Weverse Shop Japan and UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN.
Meanwhile, BTS’ Kim Taehyung is currently serving in the military as a member of the special military police in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do Province. He is expected to be discharged from his duties in 2025.
