On October 10, 2024, BTS' Jin held a live broadcast via Weverse and shared Jimin's latest military updates with their fans—ARMY. Jin was discharged from his mandatory military service on June 12, 2024, whereas Jimin enlisted on December 12, 2023, and will return in June 2025.

During the livestream, the Super Tuna singer-songwriter recalled his time in the military. The BTS idol shared that Jimin would call him once a week and talk to him for a long time. Jin added that after enlisting, Jimin has now ceased calling him as the latter isn't allowed to have a phone in the military.

Jin further added that he went to see Jimin at the military compound and the latter has gained some weight.

"It's time for Jimin to go to bed. It's probably not yet time for him to go to bed. It's usually about 9:20. He should have started roll call by now. I saw Jimin not too long ago. He gained weight because he ate well. I think he eat well and live well."

Jin continued:

"Jimin's update is. He gained weight. He's working hard in the military. Until a few months ago, we called once a week. Now he don't call me well."

He further mentioned how much he misses both Jimin and Jungkook as they have been serving in the military together.

BTS' Jin releases Super Tuna (Extended Version)

On October 11, 2024, Kim Seok-jin of BTS released Super Tuna (Extended Version) across all streaming platforms. The original track was released on December 4, 2021, as a joke for one of his close friends. However, the song became an instant hit among his fandoms and amassed over 136 million Spotify streams as of October 10, 2024.

However, the BTS sensation deleted the original song from Spotify and added the latest rendition of it—Super Tuna (Extended Version). He also dropped an official MV of the new song on BTS' official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. Fans were stunned that the Grammy-nominated musician deleted a popular track that has over 136 million streams from all music platforms.

For the unversed, since the original Super Tuna track was deleted from the idol's discography, the streaming calculation will start from zero for the new song released on October 11, 2024.

Furthermore, both the song versions are a parody of Jin's love for fishing. The lyrics focus on how he has been trying to capture a tuna fish. The official MV is equally hilarious as the singer incorporates several popular memes such as the "screaming cat in a cowboy hat" among others.

In other news, BTS' j-hope is set to be discharged from the military on October 17, 2024.
