On November 2, 2024, G-Dragon's latest comeback single, POWER, earned the second-highest new entry on the Worldwide iTunes Song chart and the European iTunes Song chart, landing at #6 and #13 respectively. The song was released on October 31, 2024, under Galaxy Entertainment and EMPIRE.
According to the official account of the World Music Awards, the track made history as it ranked in the Top 5 in all real-time charts in Korea including Bugs, MelOn, Genie, Vibe, and Flo. Meanwhile, as of this article's writing, the song dropped to No. 11 on the Worldwide iTunes Song chart. It also dropped to No. 62 on the European iTunes Song charts.
Additionally, the track topped the iTunes chart in 18 countries including, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macau, Malaysia, Norway, and Peru. Fans cheered and called him an "undisputed king" on social media. One fan wrote on X:

Supporters also mentioned how the latest release became bestselling in China on the QQ Music platform.

Sports Chosun reported on November 1, that POWER garnered over 820,000 total views on MelOn within a day of its release, upending MelOn's Concrete Chart. G-Dragon's comeback release was covered by national TV networks in South Korea including KBS, MBC, and YTN.
As of November 3, 2024, the official music video has amassed over 14 million views on YouTube—within three days of its release. The same day, the BIGBANG member also dropped the performance video of POWER which has garnered 878K views within seven hours of its release.
Kwon Ji-yong, who is known as G-Dragon, debuted as a member of BIGBANG, in 2006, under YG Entertainment. In December 2023, he terminated his contract after 18 years and parted ways with YG Entertainment. Later, he signed under Galaxy Entertainment with a partnership deal with the independent label, EMPIRE.
