South Korean actor Hyun Bin made waves by giving a shoutout to his wife, actress Son Ye-jin, during the premiere of his film at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). In an interview on the red carpet, Hyun Bin was questioned about the significance of his wife, Son Ye-jin, in his life. He replied:
"Since she is also in the same profession as an actress, her understanding and support mean a lot to me, and I’m grateful just for that. She supported me in every aspect."
Director Woo Min-ho's film, Harbin, debuted internationally on September 8, 2024, at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival. Alongside director Woo Min-ho on the red carpet, famous South Korean actors Hyun Bin and Lee Dong-wook also interacted with fans and took selfies with them.

Harbin is a spy historical thriller Korean film set in 1909, starring Hyun Bin as Ahn Jung-geun, the Korean independence activist who murdered Itō Hirobumi—the first Prime Minister of Japan.
Lee Dong-wook plays Lee Chang-seop, a freedom fighter and a friend of Ahn Jung-geun. The film chronicles the rebellion by freedom fighters who attacked Harbin, China, to free them from Japanese rulers.

Earlier, Son Ye-jin also spoke about Hyun Bin at the 2024 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN). On July 6, 2024, the South Korean superstar attended the Mega Talk session at BIFAN. A fan asked her about the perks of marrying a fellow actor.
The actress mentioned meeting people who claimed that she and Hyun Bin resembled one another. She added that while at first, she did not think they looked alike, with time, she came to believe that it was destiny.
"That's a very fresh question. [...] We meet many co-actors through numerous projects. Many people end up dating or marrying their co-stars, but that wasn't something I particularly preferred. However, destiny has its ways. People kept saying we looked alike, and I started to wonder, 'Do we really resemble each other?'"
Son Ye-jin mentioned how she collaborated with Hyun Bin on two projects, The Negotiation (2018) and Crash Landing on You (2020). She shared that she enjoyed working alongside him on both projects and lauded her husband as a "traditional gentleman."
"He's like a traditional gentleman. He's very upright and rational. I liked his straightforward nature; he doesn't sugarcoat unpleasant things or try to embellish himself. He's handsome, tall, and very reliable," she said.
On January 1, 2021, Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin's agencies confirmed that the two actors were in a relationship. The couple announced their engagement via a letter to their fans on social media on February 10, 2022. On March 31, they tied the knot in a private ceremony and welcomed their first child (a son) on November 27, 2022.
