On November 8, 2024, BTS' Jungkook’s solo album GOLDEN broke a 29-year-old record and became the best-selling album by a Korean soloist of all time. The Standing Next To You vocalist achieved this milestone with over 2.9 million album sales.

The previous record was held by Kim Gun-mo's 1995 album Wrongful Meeting, which topped the list with sales of around 2.86 million albums.

On November 8, 2024, BTS' Jungkook set a new milestone with his solo album GOLDEN, which had the most first-day vinyl sales by a K-pop act or soloist in Hanteo history. With over 80,000 GOLDEN LP vinyls sold on its first day, the singer shattered the previous record set by BTS' Love Yourself: Tear, which sold roughly 61,000 vinyls.

On October 2, 2024, BIGHIT Music published an official notification about the pre-order and release dates for BTS' Jungkook’s GOLDEN LP vinyl. The pre-order for vinyl records kicked off on October 2. The release date for Jungkook's GOLDEN album was November 8, 2024, in South Korea.

Following this, the release date is November 18 in Japan, whereas it is December 13 in Europe and the United States.

GOLDEN was dropped on November 3, 2023. The album featured a total of eleven tracks, including Closer to You (feat. Major Lazer), Hate You, Seven (feat. Latto) Explicit Version, Yes or No, Shot Glass of Tears, Please Don't Change (feat. DJ Snake), Somebody, Standing Next To You, Too Sad to Dance, and Seven (ft. Latto) Clean Version.
