On December 4, 2024, BTS' Jin celebrated his 32nd birthday. His bandmate, j-hope, shared several pictures on Weverse from his archive which went viral online. One of the clips was seemingly from years ago and showed the two bandmates riding in a car as Jin danced animatedly to BTS' Go Go, released in 2017, while j-hope filmed it.

The other video was old as well and showed the birthday boy chaotically dancing to Say What?—a track from the band's 2018 album Love Yourself: Tear. The final post of j-hope was an old picture of Jin when he had blond hair years ago. j-hope captioned it as:

"Even when he takes random shots, hyung is still handsome..."

On Instagram, j-hope also shared a picture of him with Jin from 2018 when BTS attended the NHK Songs event in Japan and performed the Japanese version of Mic Drop. The BTS ARMY were ecstatic to see the Arson rapper-songwriter share videos and pictures from his personal archives, treating fans with more unseen content.

One fan wrote on X:

"Hobi film is back"

Fans said that j-hope (nicknamed Hobi by his fans and band members) was like them as he found old clips and pictures of Jin to share on the latter's birthday.

"HOBI SHARING ANOTHER VIDEO OF SEOKJIN DANCING ON BTS 'SO WHAT'. THE WAY HE LITERALLY REPRESENT US," one fan wrote.
"Not as usual he scared of the thing behind I can't he never changed," another fan wrote.
"I can tell you by the hairstyles and clothes these videos and pics are 2017 and 2018... Hobi's magical "treasure trove" hard drive, welcome back you have been missed," another fan added.

Others highlighted the significance of j-hope sharing pictures from his "super-extensive archive".

"For those who don't know- This is from April, 2018 when BTS visited NHK Songs. 'Face Yourself' was just a new release at the time so, BTS was promoting their album and Mic Drop (Japanese ver.) in [Japan]." one fan explained.
"Aaaah Baby ARMY, you might don't know, but Hobi opens the vault of his super-extensive archive of pictures and videos when it's a member's birthday. It's such a treat. I missed it so much." another fan wrote.
"Hobi and his unending archives of Bangtan memories is ARMY heirloom which we shall always protect with our life," one other fan shared.

BTS’ Jin and J-Hope embark on solo endeavors after military service

Following their military discharges in June and October 2024, respectively, BTS members Jin and j-hope resumed their solo activities with a mix of solo projects, endorsements, and public engagements.

Jin has been steadily expanding his portfolio since completing his mandatory military service on June 12, 2024. He released his first solo album, Happy, which reportedly explores themes of happiness and personal reflection. The project follows his earlier singles, The Astronaut and Super Tuna.

The Running Wild singer-songwriter is also joining the cast of Netflix’s variety show Kian’s Bizarre B&B. He was also featured as a special guest on other reality shows like tvN's Handsome Guys, MBC's Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island, and I Love Everyone's Zoo.

The BTS star secured partnerships with several high-profile brands, including Gucci and Fred, and became its global ambassador. He also became the ambassador for the athleisure brand, ALO, and the beauty brand LANEIGE.

Additionally, in July 2024, he participated as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing South Korea on the global stage. He carried the Olympic Flame across the Louvre Pyramid, making history as the first Korean musician to achieve this feat.

j-hope, discharged on October 17, 2024, has also hit the ground running with multiple projects that highlight his versatility. Shortly after his discharge, he traveled to Los Angeles, sparking speculation about potential collaborations or music production activities.

On October 23, he threw the ceremonial pitch at the KBO League Korean Series game held between the Kia Tigers and Samsung Lions in Gwanju, Seoul.

Jin and j-hope's bandmates—Namjoon, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung—are still enlisted in the military. They will return together in June 2025 after completing their respective mandatory conscription.
