BTS member Jung Ho-seok aka j-hope has been serving in the South Korean military since April 2023 to fulfill his mandatory service of 18 months. The musician made headlines on June 26, 2024, as a concert ticketing service's official account, @tiketXid, posted a cryptic poster of the BTS idol with no caption.

Fans were puzzled to see the ticketing service posting the BTS idol while the idol was still in the military and wouldn't be discharged till October 2024.

The BTS ARMY wondered if this was a hint towards j-hope's upcoming solo world tour. The GRAMMY-nominated South Korean artist released his second solo album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1 on March 29, 2024, via his management agency BIGHIT MUSIC, under HYBE.

He also released his second solo documentary series, HOPE ON THE STREET, on Prime Video on March 28, which encapsulated his journey from a dance member in Gwangju's Neuron Crew to debuting as the rapper of BTS. Meanwhile, the tiketX post stirred the online community and one fan wrote on X,

“Hobi future tour?”

Others rallied behind the post and shared their conjectures as well. Some speculated that j-hope might announce a solo world tour since he will return from the military in October 2024 while others highlighted the poster is a still from the artist's single OUTRO: Ego from the BTS album, Map of the Soul: 7.

"Some people aren't sure if it's j-hope or not. Like... it's not even that dark, or y'all didn't watch ego at all" — an X user wrote.
"Yall they tweeted the same thing for bruno mars in 2023 and they just confirmed his concert this year...we’re getting a world tour next year what" — an X user wrote.
"Summer holiday planning will be cancelled! Need to save BIG TIME! Let this be true! Hobi we wait for you! #jhope World Tour!" — an X user wrote.
"I kept telling my gc that I had a feeling he would announce a tour in the upcoming months that would happen right after he's done with his service... I saw the future once again" — an X user wrote.
"Wait. didn't hobi tell us to wait for july 9? what if...... hobi solo tour announcement" — an X user wrote.
"Remember that one arena randomly wished him a happy birthday this year, too?? Oh, it’s coming fr." — an X user wrote.
"Just leaving here: places need to be booked well in advance, and if it's true that he's stuck until October, it doesn't mean that locations aren't already set for next year. And ticketing services would know. Just saying." — an X user wrote.

More about BTS j-hope's solo activities so far

j-hope released his debut solo album Jack in The Box in July 2022 and headlined the Lollapalooza Chicago show in August 2022. He was the first Korean solo artist to headline the music festival and attract over 100,000 spectators—a first in the history of Lollapalooza.

Some of the best moments from his act included Becky G's surprise appearance for Chicken Noodle Soup and J-Hope paying tribute with What If… to the American rapper Russell Tyrone Jones aka Ol' Dirty Bastard. Jack In The Box peaked at No.6 on the Billboard 200.

He released his solo single on the street (feat. J. Cole) on March 3, 2023, as a farewell song for his fans before he enlisted in the South Korean military on April 18, 2023. The song climbed to No.1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales and the Rap Digital Song Sales charts, respectively.

His second album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1, which came out in March 2024, peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 as of April 7, 2024. The album also debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart on April 13.

The album contains six original soundtracks (OST) from his second documentary series by the same name. The tracks featured artists such as BTS' Jungkook, LE SSERAFIM's Huh Yunjin, Yoomirae, Benny Blanco, and more.

j-hope is expected to resume solo activities in October 2024 following his return from the military and to reconvene with his band for group activities in June 2025 with the return of all BTS members.
