On August 17, 2024, BLACKPINK Jisoo appeared on the YouTube program Hi Seulgi, where Seulgi revealed how she became friends with Jisoo and Lisa. In the video, BLACKPINK Jisoo and Red Velvet's Seulgi went for a summer vacation with no plans.
During the trip, they visited a restaurant where the Red Velvet member talked about how she met Jisoo and Lisa in the bathroom of an award show and wanted to become friends with them.
The duo visited Yangpyeong, where it rained heavily, and the weather became romantic for them. The Red Velvet member added the following words in the YouTube description and stated:
"Hello, Daseulgi. Seulgi's No Plan Guide! We went to Yangpyeong. It was rainy, but it was better! Cuz it made our day more romantic. As we promised, Let's go sledding together in winter, Jisoo."

Red Velvet was unsure if she could befriend BLACKPINK Jisoo and Lisa as they belonged to different agencies
During their conversation, Red Velvet's Seulgi stated that she was initially unsure if she could befriend Jisoo and her fellow BLACKPINK member, Lisa, as they belonged to two different agencies. However, as the BLACKPINK members greeted her first, she felt comfortable, and their friendship started. Seulgi mentioned:
"We were in the toilet at Gocheok Sky Dome. Lisa was next to you. So Lisa was like, at that time, Me Too! I like you as well. I was surprised because I am from SM, and you are from YG, so I thought we could not get close to each other. It just felt like that. I was like, 'I want to get close,' what should I do?"
The Red Velvet member further elaborated on how Jisoo initiated their friendship at the 2019 Gaon Chart Music Awards and stated:
"I was just standing there, and you greeted me so brightly. Red Velvet! Be my friend! You said, 'I want to be friends,' and I think Seungwan was with me too. So I was like, 'Oh we are friends' just like that."
During their visit to Yangpyeong, BLACKPINK Jisoo, and Seulgi visited the Yangpyeong market, ate delicious street food such as Hotteok, took portraits at photo booths, and subsequently visited a restaurant for a warm meal. The duo also bought peaches instead of getting a watermelon due to size differences.
Jisoo and Seulgi also discussed the former's upcoming zombie-themed drama, NewTopia, and revealed that the cast recently wrapped up filming. During the discussion, the BLACKPINK member revealed that the series would be based on the novel Influenza.
She further confessed that nothing was hard for her; however, the filming eventually became tough as the cast had to wear the same clothes throughout July and Winter. In response, Seulgi expressed her desire to watch Jisoo's upcoming project as soon as possible.
BLACKPINK Jisoo's upcoming drama NewTopia is slated to premiere in 2025.
