On September 6, 2024, Megan Thee Stallion dropped her latest single and the official MV for Neva Play (feat. RM of BTS). The comic-book-esque music video featured the BTS leader as the male lead from an action anime. The track was recorded ahead of Kim Namjoon aka RM's military enlistment in December 2023.

Additionally, the BTS leader—his anime avatar—was seen handcuffed in the MV. He opened his rap verse with "What's up, Stallion?" and broke free from his handcuffs. As he engaged in a fighting sequence with the goons, RM delivered powerful verses like "for Asia, man we paved the way" in his deep voice.

Fans were impressed with the unique anime-styled music video on Megan Thee Stallion's latest track. They praised the accuracy of Namjoon's anime character and flooded social media with their comments.

One fan highlighted his deep voice registry and wrote on X,

"Crazy how good he sounds."

Fans cheered when the BTS leader shared the song on his Instagram story despite being in the military and wrote "For Asia, man we paved the way." The BTS ARMY boasted with pride and mentioned that they wanted the band to "brag" about their achievements and get their due credit.

"I want BTS to be like this brag about their achievements," one fan wrote.
"Remember when Namjoon shared this last year? The Super Crooks anime series has the same vibe as the Neva Play MV... Was that a hint Namjoon?" another fan noted.
"Whoever made anime namjoon I thank you infinitely bro you just blessed my eyes," another fan added.

Several fans also joked about RM's anime avatar having a driver's license and driving a car in Neva Play. This is a reference to the inside joke between BTS and the ARMY, in which they make fun of the BTS leader for being the only member without a driver's license and not knowing how to drive.

"His Rap and his Anime it's just amazing...the Swag and Coolness he has and now we get a Rap of Joonie while fighting," one fan said.
"Y'ALL NAMJOON DRIVING A CAR?? MY MAN GOT A DRIVING LICENSE IN ANIME WORLD??" another fan joked.
"Even animated namjoon is too hot to handle and with that VOICEEEEE," one fan added.

The American rapper and singer, Megan Thee Stallion, joined forces with BTS' Kim Namjoon aka RM once again. Previously, she teamed up with the K-pop septet for their 2021 smash hit Butter remix. This time, RM was the guest artist on her single, Neva Play.

Notably, RM shared two animes, Sonny Boy and Super Crooks, on his Instagram story last year. Several fans wondered if it was a hint of his collaboration with the Mamushi rapper for the comic-book-esque track. Currently, the MV of the latest release has garnered over 745K views on YouTube within 4 hours of its release.

In other news, BTS' RM joined the military in December last year to fulfill his mandatory enlistment service of 18 months. He was promoted to Corporal on August 1, 2024. The idol will return in June 2025.
