NewJeans reportedly declined a collaboration stage performance with ZEROBASEONE to allegedly protect them following the HYBE internal document controversy. As reported by Daily Sports on November 25, the ADOR girl group and ZEROBASEONE were discussing collaborating for a performance at the recently held Korean Grand Music Awards (KGMA).

However, the Super Shy singers turned down the offer to avoid harming the WakeOne boy group, as they were reportedly mentioned in the HYBE internal document unveiled on October 24, 2024, during a National Assembly audit. The internal document reportedly contained malicious and defaming comments about K-pop groups and artists from other entertainment companies.

As netizens learned about the failed collaboration discussions, they criticized the agency for creating the document. One fan on X tweeted:

“hybe doesnt deserve them at all.”

Several fans expressed their opinions on the social media platform.

“newjeans was this considerate even though everyone and their mother knew they're not favored by that report too, but the other group who was favored kept mentioning red velvet and twice,” another fan said.
“The girls act like real adult because they don’t want other groups get involved in this situation caused by their company. the adults in that company should be ashamed and learn from them,” a user said.

Fans continued to express their disappointment in the agency for the missed opportunity of a joint stage act between NewJeans and ZEROBASEONE.

“Don’t ever call newjeans heartless an evil when newjeans decided to not do the collab stage again because they were scared they’ll bring bad press to zb1, hybe needs to fall asap!!!” a user reacted.
“I hope the girls know that they should never feel guilty abt the horrid things said in that report..they aren’t to blame at all,” a fan commented.
“The way hybe has taken so much happiness from fans and the girls sooo f*cking much this year. They were worried bc knowing how antis are it wouldn’t even just harm newjeans it harms zb1 too,” another fan commented.

Common fans of NewJeans and ZEROBASEONE mentioned the possibility of seeing their favorite groups together on stage.

“my fav bg and gg could’ve been on stage together oh my,” a user stated.
“THATS WHY GUNWOOK GAVE THE FLOWERS TO NWJNS. I KNEW I KNEWWWW,” a fan wrote.
“I could’ve had my ults on stage together…..,” a user said.

NewJeans reportedly sent a certified letter to ADOR following the HYBE internal document controversy

On November 13, 2024, NewJeans reportedly sent a certified letter to ADOR demanding corrective changes, claiming that the agency had breached 14 terms of their contract. According to Yonhap News, the girl group emphasized a point they learned through an internal document, which allegedly suggested removing the group from the agency.

The comment from the HYBE internal document reportedly stated:

“In the music industry report (internal monitoring document) of Hybe that was recently confirmed during the state audit, there was a phrase that said, 'We suffered for several days with the wording of NewAR (NewJeans, ILLIT, LE SSERAFIM), but we should just throw away New and start over.’”

All five members of the girl group signed the letter under their real names: Kim Min-ji, Hanni Pham, Marsh Danielle, Kang Hae-rin, and Lee Hye-in. They also demanded that if ADOR fails to take the corrective measures, they will proceed to terminate their exclusive contracts.

According to Daily Sports, NewJeans set a deadline of November 27, 2024, for ADOR to respond to their certified letter.
