Kim Namjoon aka RM's latest solo album titled Right Place, Wrong Person follows his debut solo set Indigo. The new drop is a showdown of the artist stepping into a new chapter of his musical career, broadening his horizons, and displaying his versatility as a musical prodigy.

Kim Namjoon's second solo album is a homage to old-school hip-hop genre and a bold stand on behalf of his band

South Korean artist and BTS leader, Kim Namjoon, dropped an 11-piece set on May 24, 2024, with the lead single LOST!. Since he is currently serving in the military to fulfill his mandatory enlistment period of 18 months, his second solo act marked the beginning of the artist's new journey.

The entire album, especially Groin's music video, is an ode to the 2000s hip-hop rap music. It was an era when hip-hop artists such as Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Diddy, Snoop Dogg, and more, reigned the music realms with their cool and funky beat drops.

Meanwhile, the lead single LOST! is a sneak peek into Namjoon's mind where he takes a walk with his four different personas as he faces the cost of being at the peak of his stardom. This notion serves as the core theme of Right Place, Wrong Person in which Namjoon addresses how the world placed undue pressure and expectations on his shoulders at the very young age of 16.

The rapper-songwriter took this feeling as an inspiration and wrote 11 tracks revolving around this theme with a fine dosage of self-doubt, his trials, mental illnesses, experiencing toxic love and heartbreak, and being criticized by others.

Songs such as Domodachi, Heaven, and ㅠㅠ(Credit Roll) dwell into RM's emotions of seizing the world with his close mates (BTS) and being grateful to his family members, and fans, who stood by his side for over a decade. Although through the track, Groin, the rapper aims to clap back at haters. The particular song also gives reference to INTRO: Never Mind from BTS' WINGS album, which was written by his bandmate SUGA.

Right Place, Wrong Person is available for streaming across all music platforms globally. Namjoon also dropped three separate music videos, including the album's pre-release single titled Come back to me, the lead track LOST!, and the B-side track Groin. At present, the BTS frontman is deployed to the 15th Infantry Unit and will return from the military in June 2025.
