BTS' Taehyung aka V's FRI(END)S was nominated for Best Pop Video International at the 2024 UK Music Video Awards. On September 30, BIGHIT MUSIC (a HYBE subsidiary) posted a news article on their official X account from Sports Kyunghyang and tagged RM and V for their notable nominations at the British awards.

BTS leader Kim Namjoon aka RM earned three nominations for his music video LOST!, from his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. The categories are Best Alternative Music Video International, Best Production Design in a Video, and Best Visual Effects in a Video.

Meanwhile, fans reacted to the post and asked BIGHIT MUSIC why they failed to mention and acknowledge V's nomination. It is important to note that the news article mentioned the three nominations that BTS' RM received along with V's FRI(END)S getting nominated.

Furthermore, in their post caption, BIGHIT MUSIC tagged both RM and V although they tagged V in Korean "#뷔." However, the fan referenced another tweet where the company only posted about RM's three nominations.

International fans trended the phrase "HYBE RESPECT TAEHYUNG" and demanded that they post separately for V and highlight his achievements. One fan said on X (formerly Twitter):

"So where is Taehyung's UKMVA news? @BIGHIT_MUSIC. HYBE TREAT TAEHYUNG FAIRLY. HYBE RESPECT TAEHYUNG"

Fans lashed out at HYBE for allegedly not acknowledging BTS' V's achievements.

"You now pick and share an article written by Lee Seonmyung, the most rabid of mhjs lapdogs, who has repeatedly defamed Namjoon and other BTS members. The same journalist we've been emailing you to sue him, for months," one fan wrote.
"1. Posted for other member but didn't post for Taehyung... 2. Could not even add his full name, who is KIM? There's 3 KIMs in BTS... 3. adding unnecessary negative subs to fuel hatred on him," another fan wrote.
"Where is taehyung’s separate post for his UKMVA nomination," another fan added.

Others highlighted how BIGHIT MUSIC allegedly did not post about V's Layover Vinyl's release as well. For the unversed, the company had posted that they released the Vinyls of other BTS members' solo projects such as Jimin's FACE in October 2023, Suga's D-DAY in April 2024, RM's Indigo in January 2024, etc.

"This ridiculous company never leaves a single chance of sabotaging and disrespecting taehyung. We have to tag them for everything why?!" one fan commented.
"If someone can make a Qoo post about these issues pls do: - Bighit not posting for Layover Vinyl’s release - Bighit not making a seperate post for his UK MVA nom - Bighit-Hybe’s shady captions targeted at Taehyung." another fan highlighted.
"Two of the BTS members got nominated, but @BIGHIT_MUSIC posted only for RM while ignoring BTS V ?!" another fan said.

"Worth watching" — Billboard Philippines praises BTS' Taehyung's FRI(END)S for its direction & cinematography

FRI(END)S was released on March 15, 2024, by BIGHIT MUSIC as V of BTS has been serving in the military since December 2023. Since Taehyung was in the military, the release had a shorter promotion schedule. Nonetheless, the song topped the iTunes Worldwide Song chart across 87 countries within 24 hours of its release.

The music video was directed by a British photographer and director, Samuel Bradley, and starred British actress, Ruby Sear (The Gentleman). The video also ranked #1 on the Global Top Music Videos chart. The song speaks about V's wish to be more than friends with a special someone.

However, when love finally found him, he was killed in a vehicle accident, leaving an ambiguous conclusion. Currently, the song has over 358 million streams (358,937,611) on Spotify. The MV has amassed over 49 million views on YouTube as of September 30, 2024.

Meanwhile, Billboard Philippines in a July 3, 2024, article for the top ten music videos of 2024, underscored the praise-worthy cinematography of the music video. Unlike other romantic videos, the BTS idol's FRI(END)S opened with him severely disgusted and annoyed by couples around him. As per the writer of the article,

"While the story of the music video — which I am, admittedly, confused by — is immensely compelling on its own, the cinematography on its own makes it worth watching."

The list also praised IU's Love wins all MV which starred V as its male lead.
