On July 15, 2024, W KOREA released an interview video of BTS Jin on their official YouTube channel. The Epiphany musician was featured on the magazine's cover issue for W Korea Vol. 7 'Summer Dreamer' in collaboration with the French luxury jewelry brand, FRED. For the uninitiated, Jin became the first-ever global ambassador for FRED on July 8.
Meanwhile, in his latest YouTube interview for W KOREA, the magazine asked the BTS idol about being a special warrior in the military. In response, the singer shared being an "ACE" in his division.
He mentioned that he needed to finish the three km event in 12 minutes and 30 seconds to receive his Special Warrior grade. However, he finished it in just 11 minutes and 30 seconds.
"I was the ACE in the military! I did everything that they told me. Luckily, I was the first one to get a special warrior. I got 18 out of 20 shots in shooting. In 3 km, 12 minutes, and 30 seconds is the grade for a special warrior. I got 11 minutes and 30 seconds in 3 km running. I was the first one to achieve special warrior." He said in the interview.

BTS Jin developed a unique habit during his time in the military
The BTS idol served in the South Korean military from December 13, 2022, to June 12, 2024. During his time in the military, he earned the Special Warrior classification early on and was the first in his division to achieve this feat. He also earned an early promotion to Assistant Drill Instructor.
Furthermore, the Moon singer-songwriter's outstanding performance helped him gain another early promotion to the rank of Sergeant. In his most recent interview, Jin said that because it is prohibited for soldiers to keep their hands in their pockets, he formed the unusual habit of resting his hands on his pants.
"My new habit...it's funny to call it that, but I always have my fingers hooked on the edge of my pants like this. In the military, there's a rule against putting your hands in your pockets, so I naturally developed the habit of resting my hands on my pants instead." The idol said.
During Jin's military discharge, all BTS members met him outside the military base and welcomed him to civilian life. W KOREA asked the singer-songwriter to share his feelings upon seeing his band members together after so long.
Jin hilariously recalled that he looked for them after he finished bowing and waving to the paparazzi outside the base. However, when he turned around, he saw Namjoon playing a saxophone and the rest of the band members hugging each other without him.
"After saying thank you in front of the cameras, I looked for the members and they were all hugging each other without me, you know? Because it has been a long time since the members had seen each other as well. When I was in the military, I really missed the members," he said.
In other news, on July 15, 2024 (KST), BTS Jin carried the Olympic Flame for the 2024 Paris Olympics Torch Relay at the Louvre Pyramid. He was selected as one of the honorable torchbearers and became the first Korean musician ever to represent South Korea as its Forerunner.
