On December 2, 2024, BLACKPINK's Rosé appeared for an exclusive interview on JTBC Newsroom, where she talked about her collaboration with Bruno Mars and the grand success of her solo track, APT. During the show, she gave a shout-out to the Talking To The Moon singer-songwriter for doing the song with her.

Rosé claimed that working with Bruno Mars was exciting and that he inspired and assisted her. She shared how the Western musician requested her to repeat, "Bruno Mars is the best," so she said,

"Bruno, you’re the greatest; I said it on TV… He’s really going to like it."

The BLACKPINK singer also revealed how Bruno Mars teased her for not knowing how to flirt while rehearsing for their song, APT., together. She recalled that a verse from the song was meant to be sung in a manner that would sound like flirting, however, Rosé failed to do it and Bruno Mars kept teasing her about that.

Meanwhile, fans praised their friendship and "silly banters" and wrote on X:

In an unprecedented collaboration, BLACKPINK's Rosé and Bruno Mars joined forces for the single APT. on October 18, 2024. The song, inspired by a nostalgic Korean childhood game, has captivated audiences worldwide and set several records across platforms.

APT. achieved numerous milestones shortly after its release. The music video became the fastest of 2024 to surpass 300 million YouTube views, achieving the feat in just 22 days. It now ranks as the sixth-fastest music video of all time to hit this mark, breaking a K-pop record previously held by PSY’s Gentleman.

The song debuted at No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, making Rosé the first Asian female solo artist to break into the top 10. It also topped the Billboard Global 200 chart, becoming Rosé’s second No. 1 on this chart.

On Spotify, APT. recorded the second-biggest debut week for a K-pop act, amassing 71.72 million streams and staying No. 1 on Global Spotify for four consecutive days. On iTunes, it reached No. 1 in 63 countries and held the top spot on the Worldwide iTunes chart for six consecutive days, setting new records for a female K-pop soloist.

The song climbed to No. 3 on Worldwide Apple Music, marking the BLACKPINK singer as the highest-charting K-pop female soloist in the platform’s U.S. history. It also achieved real-time "all-kills" on South Korea’s MelOn, Genie, Bugs, and FLO charts.

APT. broke records on TikTok, becoming the fastest Asian song to surpass 1 billion views in just four days. The song earned Rosé and Bruno Mars the "Global Sensation" award at the 2024 MAMA Awards, where their live performance was a standout moment.


The BLACKPINK idol is set to drop her debut solo album, Rosie, on December 6, 2024. The set will consist of 12 English tracks including APT. and Number One Girl.
