“I can’t wait for this one”- Fans excited as Ji Chang-Wook confirms his next project alongside EXO’s Doh Kyung-soo

Ji Chang-Wook appeared on the South Korean variety show You Quiz on the Block on July 24, and revealed that he would be collaborating with D.O. of EXO on a forthcoming project called Sculpture City. Ji Chang-Wook is slated to portray the protagonist in Sculpture City. Doh Kyung-soo, nicknamed D.O., a well-known South Korean actor and member of the K-pop boy band Exo, will portray the antagonist in the series.

The series is written by Oh Sang-ho, the well-known screenwriter of Taxi Driver. Kim Chang Ju is directing the drama in the interim. Sculpture City tells the narrative of a guy whose life becomes a living hell due to manipulation by a malevolent figure who creates actual hell for others to live in.

After the success of Welcome To Samdalri in 2023, Chang-Wook comes back to the screen along with D.O. Moreover, Kyung-soo was seen last on Bad Prosecutor in 2022. Fans are excited to see the two back and this time together for the first time.

Fans have taken to social media to express their happiness. One fan said,

Some fans, however, wanted more of Ji Chang-Wook in a romantic comedy.

Upcoming Ji Chang-wook projects

Ji Chang-Wook will also play the menacingly evil Andy in the film Revolver. The widely awaited Korean crime-action movie Revolver will open in South Korean theatres on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The film follows the life of a police investigator named Andy and revolves around themes of betrayal and revenge.

A historical action K-drama called Queen Woo will make its TVING premiere in 2024. In some areas, it will also be available to stream on Parmount+. The male character, Go Nam Mu, or King Gogukcheon of Goguryeo, will be portrayed by Chang-Wook. The female character, Woo Hee, nicknamed Queen U of Goguryeo, will be portrayed by actress Jeon Jing Seo.

Chang-Wook will also play the mysterious Yoon Gil Ho in the upcoming K-drama Gangnam B-Side. It is a murder thriller that is scheduled to debut on Disney Plus in 2024. Gangnam B-Side will tell the gripping tale of a pariah investigator who, upon the disappearance of his daughter's classmate, becomes enmeshed in the world of narcotics, depravity, and corruption. He finds something that poses a threat to a select set of people while looking into the case.
