Chinese actress Zhao Lusi recently returned to the spotlight after battling a long-term health issue, Dissociative Conversion Disorder, a condition causing neurological symptoms linked to trauma. During a recent interview, the Hidden Love star discussed her dramatic weight loss, explaining that she initially didn’t pay much attention to it and attributed it to an egg allergy.

Her weight had dropped to a worrying 37 kilograms despite her regular eating habits, prompting her to seek medical help when she began experiencing physical discomfort. Video clips of the recent interview with a Chinese media outlet were posted by X user @itsmejodiiii on January 26, 2025, where the actress said,

“Currently 82 jin (41 kg), thinnest was 74 jin (37 kg). Also, I didn’t deliberately try to lose weight. After losing weight drastically I didn’t pay much attention because I thought it was due to my allergy to eggs. So I couldn’t eat many desserts or cakes, and that’s why I lost weight.”

Zhao Lusi continued,

“Then later, I was eating a lot every day, but still my weight won’t increase. I only realized something was wrong when my body felt uncomfortable.”

Zhao Lusi revealed that the diagnosis and recovery process has been life-changing. She shared how she is gradually regaining some weight and focusing on setting personal boundaries to protect her emotional and physical health.

Her candid discussion aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental and physical well-being.

All we know about Zhao Lusi’s recent health struggles and hospitalization

Concerns about Zhao’s health surfaced in December when images of her in a wheelchair spread online, raising alarm among her fans. Her management confirmed her hospitalization, citing overwork and stress from a hectic schedule. “In the past, I thought the phrase ‘easy to get along with’ was very important. I could endure and endure again. After this illness, I feel that I have re-established Zhao Lusi’s boundaries, setting up a protective barrier for myself to better protect my emotions.”
