Squid Game star Jung Ho-yeon also monomusly known as Ho-yeon recently addressed the dating rumors with the NBA player Devin Booker. On Wednesday, June 26, ELLE published an interview with the South Korean actress where she spoke about her modeling career, and upcoming project and also opened up about her personal life.

In the interview, Jung Ho-yeon shared her love for cats and how she adopted two cats naming one after her Squid Game character Sae-byuk. She also revealed that the cats were in the care of her boyfriend while she was away. According to ELLE, the actress debunked the rumors regarding Devin Booker's messaging on Instagram.

The actress confirmed that the rumors were untrue and that she did not know him. The media outlet clarified that there was no shade to the Phoenix Suns player this was only because Jung Ho-yeon is not a fan of basketball and so she is unaware of him.

When asked about the rumors of Devin Booker sliding into her direct messages, she stated:

“I don’t even know who he is.”

In April 2024, Devin Booker made headlines for allegedly commenting on Jung Ho-yeon's Instagram post seemingly shooting his shot. The alleged screenshot of his comment garnered much attention from the fans of the NBA player. The netizens and fans rushed to the Chicken Nugget actress’ Instagram page to confirm whether Devin Booker commented on her photo on April 19, 2024.

On April 24, 2024, the alleged screenshot of the comment went viral on X with over 10 million views, 118K likes and 5000 quote retweets posted by @theNBACentel which read,

“check your dm shawty.”

To which Ho-yeon allegedly replied,

“No (red heart).”

The community notes on the Tweet indicated that the tweet was misleading and fake as Devin Booker did not comment on Ho-yeon's posts.

Notably, Jung Ho-yeon confirmed her relationship with Reply 1988 star Lee Dong-hwi in 2016. The two have openly spoken about each other on the renowned comedian Yoo Jae-suk's talk show Pinggyego.

On the Pinggyego episode aired on April 13, Ho-yeon shared her experience of meeting David Beckham and asking for his autograph for her boyfriend, Lee Dong-hwi. In return, David Beckham made a video message for him.


Jung Ho-yeon's upcoming projects

In 2022, Ho-yeon was confirmed as a cast member of Joe Talbot's second feature film The Governesses with Lily-Rose Depp and Renate Reinsve for A24. The synopsis of The Governesses is as follows:

“Three rebellious governesses who upend the household they work in—inspiring the minds of the boys in their care, igniting the imaginations of the bohemian couple who employ them and abandoning their charges for erotic adventures.” according to Deadline.

The actress will also appear in the Apple TV+ show Disclaimer alongside actors like Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, and many more. According to Variety, Ho-yeon will portray the role of Kim, a hard-working and ambitious person. Her character is described as someone aware of the fact that her chances of making it big in her career are higher if she sticks by journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate Blanchett).

Ho-yeon's character Kang Sae-byuk passed away in the pilot season of the Netflix hit Squid Game. The show is set to return in 2024, with a star-studded cast including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, and many more. During her recent interview with ELLE, Jung Ho-yeon confirmed that she will not appear in Squid Game 2.
