TXT's Yeonjun confessed that the creation of GUMM was difficult
During the interview, the male artist stated that initially, he thought he was ready for the creation of GUMM. However, he realized there was no walking in the park during the process. He cited the process as 'really difficult' and added that it was challenging to simultaneously execute vocals, dance, and rap. He stated that the process was exhausting as he had to do everything independently and mentioned:
"It was really difficult. It was very challenging to do the vocals, the rap, and the dance all at once. I tried doing everything at the same time. It's very tiring. So while working on the choreo and the song, I came to really respect solo artists."
Subsequently, the idol confessed that while he worked on the choreography and the track, he came to respect the solo artists. He further added that due to his experiences with the group, he was able to take on the challenge of composing the mixtape.
TXT's Yeonjun further elaborated on his ideas about the mixtape and its concept. He mentioned:
"I'm always looking for opportunities to expand my artistry, expand my different musical performances. During the middle of the US tour, we started talking about this project, and we slowly built on that."
The male artist also talked about the chewing gum part of the mixtape. He stated that when he was in the car, he chewed on gum, which occurred to him suddenly and naturally. He stated that the vibe suited him and was a perfect concept for his first solo project.
TXT's Yeonjun also stated that music played a big part in his life, allowing him to be really and be himself. He further confessed that he felt both pressured and responsible for doing a good job as he released his first solo project.
