On Friday, December 6, BLACKPINK's Rosé released the music video for her solo song, Toxic Till the End. The music video featured Evan Mock, an American model who previously starred in HBO Max's Gossip Girl. In one of the scenes of the music video, the idol was seen kissing the model. This naturally brought reactions from fans and netizens.
While many were happy and surprised about how Rosé was being experimental and free with her music videos and songs, people also began to speculate if the idol has a type in men. These speculations began as fans found similarities in Bruno Mars and Evan Mock's ethnicity and backgrounds.
Bruno Mars' father has Puerto Rican and Jewish heritage, while his mother has Filipino and Spanish heritage. On the other hand, according to the South China Morning Post, Evan Mock's mother is Filipino, while his father is American.
Given that Rosé collaborated with both these artists, fans couldn't help but think that the idol type could be Filipino-American men. Here are a few fan reactions regarding the same:
"I HAVE A CHANCE GUYS"
"She has a type..." said a fan on X.
"I CAN GIVE U GREEN CARD BABY FORGET ABOUT MEN, A WOMAN LIKE ME CAN TREAT YOU BETTER," added another fan.
"OEMGEEEEEE!!!! WASN'T EXPECTING THAT ROSÉ," commented a netizen.
More fans and netizens talked about their speculations regarding the idol's type being Filipino-Americans.
"Her lucky charms," stated a fan.
"one thing about rosé is she’s collecting filipino-american boys," added an X user.
"hold up. bruno mars is half-filipino and evan mock is half-filipino as well. is this a clue about 'the ex,'" said a netizen.
Another user said:
