On Sunday, December 1, the official page of JTBC Newsroom put out a special interview with BLACKPINK's Rosé. In this 52-minute episode, the K-pop artist discusses various topics, including her recently released single APT., which was made in collaboration with American rockstar Bruno Mars.

During the discourse, the BLACKPINK member expressed her reservations about her music being classified as 'K-pop.' Although she believed that the term 'K-pop' was a powerful expression in itself, she did not want it to be used to discriminate against her music.

“Evidently there is a part of me that is proud of being in this category called 'K-Pop', but I also sincerely hope that this label 'K-pop' will not become a factor of division for music. "K-Pop" is a very powerful word and it is good in that sense, but I hope it will not turn into a discriminating factor (for music),” Rosé expressed.

BLACKPINK's Rosé additionally addressed her next solo album, Rosie, and her future plans after the album's release. Rosé emphasized her performances while outlining her post-album release goals.

She said that her future ambition is to set up distinctive events and stages.

“Well, primarily now when the album comes out, I would say that my next dream is to create performances and stages that I am fully satisfied with. There’s some things I worry about and I have rather high expectations for myself and my work, so whenever I get inspiration for something I immediately want to implement it that way.”
