On Sunday, August 25, BTS' Suga shared a handwritten apology on Weverse for the DUI incident that recently caused a stir on the internet. The renowned BTS musician was reportedly observed riding a motorized vehicle to his residence in Hanam-dong on the evening of August 6 while intoxicated. Suga has garnered significant media attention since this incident occurred.

Most recently, on Friday, August 23, BTS' Suga was summoned for a police investigation at Yongsan Police Station. He briefly paused to address the media. He expressed deep remorse for what he did and also said that he would fully cooperate with the investigation.

Following this, Suga posted on Weverse, apologizing to his fans and everyone who loves BTS. He started his post by expressing deep apologies for his wrongful actions. He also states how he failed to take responsibility for his actions.

“I deeply apologise for disappointing and hurting the fans and everyone who has loved and supported me due to my wrongful actions. I failed to uphold the responsibility to repay the love I have received with appropriate behaviour and committed a serious mistake,” Suga shared.

Suga further mentioned the night of August 6, when he made the mistake of riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk after drinking. In addition, he expressed regret for the initial apologetic message he released in a rush on August 7 for leading to so much confusion. It was his own fault, he said, for not being more careful and responsible. He said:

“All of this is my fault. My thoughtlessness has caused difficulties for everyone who cares about me.”

He tried to assure his fans that he would not repeat such mistakes again and live with remorse. He also stated that his actions have brought disgrace to the name of his music group, BTS.

“Because of this incident, I have left a significant stain on the precious memories I have made with the members and fans and have brought disgrace to the name of BTS. I am deeply sorry and inexpressibly pained for having caused harm to the members and the team. I am sorry to the members who have always trusted me and now have to go through a difficult time because of me.”

He continued that while there was no way he could heal the disappointment and hurt felt by the fans, he is deeply regretful of his shortcomings. Lastly, to wrap up his statement, he also apologized for causing social controversy and revealed that he would accept any punishment imposed on him.

BTS' Suga’s driving under the influence incident took place on August 6

BTS' Suga, who is presently fulfilling his military obligations, garnered attention for engaging in driving back to his house after an outing with friends, while being under the influence on August 6.

On August 7, the musician issued an official apology for the breach of road traffic regulations during his military service. As per the idol's statement, he tripped while taking a turn. Following which, three police personnels came to his aid when they smelled alcohol in his breath and penalised him with a fine and revoked his license.

At first, Suga's BigHit agency claimed that he was using an electric kickboard rather than an electric scooter, but the authorities later classified it as a motorized vehicle. Presently, the DUI incident involving BTS' Suga is being investigated, and the star is actively cooperating.
