On October 13, 2024, BTS member Jimin celebrated his 29th birthday, marking a special occasion despite being in the military since December 2023. Unable to be with his fans in person, the idol took to Weverse, the platform used by idols to interact with their fans and express his gratitude for the overwhelming birthday wishes he received.
Born in 1995, the K-pop star posted several messages where he playfully greeted his fans, mentioning how it had been long since they last interacted. He remarked on how quickly his birthday had arrived and reflected on the passage of time, noting that while it felt like time had flown by, it also seemed to move slowly when thinking ahead. He wrote,
“It's already my birthday after getting used to it But I think time went by fast and I think I'm walking slowly, tooㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It's fast when you turn around, but slow when you look ahead”
Jimin promised to repay the love and support he had received, asking his fans to be patient until he could return. He concluded his messages by expressing his deep love for ARMY and reaffirming that he would return soon.
"I'll be back," Jimin wrote on Weverse.

Moreover, Jimin encouraged them to focus on positive things while waiting for the group’s return, admitting that he was concerned the wait might feel long but hoped it would be filled with joy. He stated,
"How about ARMYs? What kind of days are we spending. I think waiting for us will come as a guide. I'm worried about that, but I hope you're just spending time with happy things. It's only for you guys to do that lol."

Jimin further urged the fans not to worry about him, expressing his gratitude for his birthday wishes despite his absence. He added that he felt incredibly blessed to be able to celebrate, even while serving in the military. The letter, which was posted on Weverse, read:
"It's been a while since ARMY made happy memories Haha . I didn't tell you to worry!! It's not easy Haha. But there are so many good people in the military, so we're all working hard to get training. I'm eating well and working out really hard! So don't worry about me. "

"Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday. I'm so blessed that I'm in the military but I'm still celebrating my birthday."
Meanwhile, Jimin is scheduled to be discharged from the military in June 2025.
