“I'll live well and not let everyone worry about me” — WayV’s Hendery addresses allegations about hangout with women and former NCT member Lucas

On September 19, WayV's Hendery addressed an internet user's concerns about a recent gathering with women and former NCT member Lucas. He responded and thanked his fans for their concern and explained his meeting with the women.

"Thank you for everyone's concern. I'm really grateful that you're worrying! It was just a gathering among friends and normal socialization. I'll live well and not let everyone worry about me. I hope everyone is having a good time every day."

Hendery’s response came after he was spotted hanging out with Lucas and a few women at a bowling alley. An internet user posted a photo of the singer with a caption saying,

"I came to bowl, but it looks like Hendery came to bowl with some girls."

Although the tweet did not encounter much response, several fans expressed indignation as NCT is presently embroiled in controversy owing to former member Taeil's s*xual harassment controversy. For those unaware, WayV is the subunit of NCT.

NCT has been engulfed in former member Taeil's s*xual harassment controversy

In June 2024, a female lodged a criminal complaint against NCT's Taeil, although specifics of the purported offense were not made public. In light of the claims, SM Entertainment announced on August 28 that Taeil would be expelled from the group. It was said that Taeil cooperated with the police investigation and that further information would be disclosed as it advanced.

The boy band’s agency, SM Entertainment, issued a statement to remove Taeil from the group.

"This is SM Entertainment. We have recently confirmed that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case related to sexual crimes. While looking into the situation, we recognized that the issue is very serious, and we have decided that Taeil could no longer continue team activities. We have discussed this matter with Taeil and it has been decided he will be removed from the group."

Following the announcement, Taeil made his Instagram account private and decreased the number of accounts he follows. He also lost more than 1.1 million followers. SM Entertainment has excluded Taeil from NCT-related materials.

On September 13, the Seoul Bangbae Police Station reported that the matter was referred to the prosecution; nevertheless, Taeil has not been apprehended. Taeil’s s*xual assault case is currently under investigation.

More about WayV

WayV is a Chinese boy band and the fourth sub-unit of the Korean boy group NCT. The group is overseen by SM Entertainment’s Chinese sub-label, Label V.

As of this writing, the music band consists of Kun, Ten, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang. Lucas was initially a member of the original lineup but left the group in May 2023.

The group made its debut on January 17, 2019, with the digital extended play (EP) titled The Vision.
