On January 26, 2025, music director, K-drama OST producer, and composer Nam Hye-seung shared a thank-you post for BTS' Jin on his Instagram account. Hye-seung posted an image of Kim Seokjin along with a note expressing gratitude for collaborating on the OST for When The Stars Gossip, titled Close to You.
BTS' Jin contributed to the making of Close to You, which was released as part 3 of the OST for the tvN drama When The Stars Gossip on January 26, 2025, at 6 PM KST.
Nam Hye-seung mentioned the official release date and time of the OST while thanking the BTS member. He wrote:
“Above all, I’m deeply thankful and touched by “Jin,” who participated wholeheartedly in this project despite his busy schedule.”

Hye-seung also underlined the extensive process of creating Close to You. He added:
“From the sketch stage of this song, through the melody composition, to refining each lyric and choosing words, revising and revising again—composer Kim Kyunghee, who stayed up sleepless nights to work on this together, I’m always so grateful to you.”
The composer remarked that the song was only possible because BTS' Jin sang it; otherwise, it would have been completely different and had an entirely distinct vibe. Hye-seung continued:
“I hope many people will listen to Jin’s “Close to You.” P.S. Don’t you think Jin (JIN) and the universe are a perfect match? If Seokjin hadn’t sung this song, the latter part would have ended up being structured completely differently and would have had a completely different vibe!”
BTS' Jin’s Close to You snippet from When The Stars Gossip dropped on January 20
On January 20, 2025, an excerpt of BTS' Jin's OST, Close To You, for the Korean drama series When The Stars Gossip, was made public. The track was set for formal release on January 26. This marks BTS' Jin's second K-drama OST, following his 2021 single Yours for Jirisan. The soundtrack was teased in episode 7 of the K-drama.
