In a recent interview with Korean media house Single List to promote her new drama, The Frog, actress Go Min-si shared that she is enjoying the ongoing drama Love Next Door starring Jung So-min. In the interview held on August 26, 2024, when asked if there is a romance drama she has seen recently, she replied,

“I really enjoyed ‘Love Next Door’ these days. And So-min is in it too. [...] I am enjoying watching ‘Love Next Door’. I am excited.

Jung So-min and Go Min-si have worked together before in the 2018 South Korean television series The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, which was a remake of the 2002 Japanese television series Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi. They have reportedly shared a friendship ever since

In her interview with Single List on August 26, Go Min-si mentioned that she has been enjoying Love Next Door, starring Jung So-min. The Frog actor added that she considers Jung So-min her favorite senior, who is like a sister to her.

Go Min-si expressed her excitement about Love Next Door, which is directed by Yoo Je-won, and said,

"And So-min is in it too. Since she is my favourite senior and sister, I am enjoying watching ‘Love Next Door’. I am excited. Director Yoo Je-won is also directing it”

In her interview, Go Min-si also expressed her desire to work in romance and historical drama genres. She is a renowned actress who has appeared in various Korean dramas, such as Love Alarm (2019–2021), Youth of May (2021), and Sweet Home (2020–2023), as well as the films The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion (2018) and Smugglers (2023).

For the film Smugglers, Go Min-si has won several Best Actress and Best New Actress awards, including the Busan Film Critics Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards. Her directorial debut in the 2016 film Parallel Novel, where she co-starred, was awarded the Grand Prize at the Three Minutes Film Festival.

In the recent interview, Go Min-si named the South Korean epic historical drama films The Fortress (2017) and The Throne (2015) as the type of drama she is interested in. The actress says she wants to see herself in such projects regardless of how small or big her role is. She expressed,

"I really want to do a romance drama, and I also want to do a traditional historical drama. There are works like 'The Throne' and traditional historical dramas like 'The Fortress'. Regardless of whether it is a small or big character, I want to see myself moving in a traditional historical drama."

Plot and cast of Love Next Door

The narrative of Love Next Door centers around Bae Seok-ryu, a woman who, after encountering significant obstacles in her professional and romantic endeavors, decides to return to Korea to revitalize her life.

Choi Seung-hyo is a highly accomplished young architect and the CEO of "The Architecture Atelier In." He has known Bae Seok-ryu since childhood and knows all her embarrassing stories.

The drama, besides Jung So-min, also stars Jung Hae-in and is written and directed by the writer and director duo of Hometown Cha Cha Cha. The synopsis of tvN's Love Next Door says,

"Love Next Door is a story about a woman who wants to change her life that she doesn't like and a mother's friend's son who knows too well about her shameful childhood"

Love Next Door's episodes air every Saturday and Sunday at 09:20 PM (KST). Love Next Door and The Frog, starring Go Min-si, are both streaming on Netflix in certain regions.
