Mexican singer Peso Pluma recently garnered attention among K-pop fans for showing interest in collaborating with BTS. On November 12, Entertainment Tonight released an interview featuring Peso Pluma at the 2024 MTV European Music Awards. In the video, the interviewee asked about a previous online interaction with a fan, which ignited collaboration speculations with BTS.

On October 28, the Mexican singer unveiled a behind-the-scenes picture where only his silhouette was visible. The picture received a comment from a fan who said:

“BTS COLLAB”.

Peso replied with a ninja emoji, fueling collaboration rumors online. During the MTV European Music Award interview, he was asked about this interaction and if he had any plans to collaborate with BTS. Peso Pluma showed his enthusiasm for working with the Dynamite singers in the future and said:

“Let's do it! I'm a fan, let's make it happen! Whatever they want.”

Peso Pluma is gathering attention from K-pop fans, particularly BTS fans, due to his recent interview at the MTV EMAs, where he revealed to be a fan of the boy group. He also expressed his desire to collaborate with the K-pop boy group.

Peso Pluma, aka Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, is a 25-year-old singer born on June 15, 1999, in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico, as per Gigwise. Passionate about learning music, he took lessons from YouTube videos to learn guitar at the age of 15. He marked his professional journey as an artist in 2020 with the release of his first album, Ah y Qué?.

In 2021, he dropped his second album, Efectos Secundarios. The single Por Las Noches illustrated his unique music style, which is an inspiration from Mexican regional music. With his song El Belicón with Raul Vega in 2022, he witnessed a breakthrough in his music career as the song went viral on social media platforms.

In 2023, Peso Pluma dropped the album GÉNESIS, receiving appreciation from his listeners, and the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. He received his first Grammy Award in the Best Música Mexicana Album (Including Tejano) category for the album GÉNESIS in February 2024.

His single, Ella Baila Sola with Eslabon Armado, entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in 2023, peaking at No. 4. In June 2024, he released his 4th album, ÉXODO. He recently performed the track HOLLYWOOD from the album at MTV EMAs.


BTS members' military services and upcoming schedule

Currently, five members of BTS, including RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, are serving in the military to fulfill their national duties. While Suga enlisted for his services on September 22, 2023, RM and V joined on December 11, and Jimin and Jungkook started their duty on December 12. They are expected to be discharged from their duties in 2025.

Jin and j-hope concluded their military duties in June and October 2024, respectively. The eldest member of the septet, Jin, is gearing up for his first solo album, Happy's release on November 15, 2024. On the other hand, j-hope went live on Weverse on November 12, 2024, chatting with fans and updating them about his daily life, among other things.
