On June 26 at midnight KST, BTS' V surprised fans by announcing a new upcoming project. Named TYPE 1, the latest release will be dropped on July 9, which is known as ARMY Day worldwide and is dedicated to celebrating the devoted fandom of the K-pop septet, hence making it even more special.

The promotional poster features Kim Tae-hyung, aka BTS' V, without a shirt, showcasing his physique in a confident pose. Fans are intrigued to find that instead of using his stage name, the artist's original name is printed atop the image, along with some lines from his much-adored solo track, Scenery. The song was composed and written by the BTS vocalist himself, produced by DOCSKIM, and rolled out on SoundCloud in January 2019.

Seeing the song's lyrics has baffled fans, who were already taken aback by the release announcement. Meanwhile, the pre-order date for TYPE 1 commences on June 27 at 11 a.m. KST. Even though further details regarding the project are yet to be divulged, fans rushed to social media to express their reactions, with one X user stating the following:

"I’M LOSING MY MIND."

Presently, the release of the project and the 28-year-old artist are trending on X under tags like KIM TAEHYUNG, #BTSV, #TYPE_1, ON ARMY DAY, Scenery, and several others.

As the poster's image reminds ARMYs of some unexplained photos previously shared by BTS' V from an undefined project, they wonder if hints were being dropped a long while ago.

"My first thoughts immediately were about this one particular mystery photoshoot and ig we are finally getting it," reacted an X-user.
"IS THIS KIM TAEHYUNG'S HINTS," a comment read.
"I'm not ready," wrote another netizen.
"Kim taehyung you're insane," said another post.

Additionally, the speculations keep coming in.

"THOSE ARE THE LYRICS FROM SCENERY!!!! It might be music but also possibly a photobook because of Scenery meaning and how Tae was first teasing it as a photo album back in 2019, and also OMFG," commented a fan.
"What in the “CHAPTER 2 ISN’T ABOUT TAKING OUR SHIRTS OFF” is THIS??!??!!" read a tweet.

Taking a look at BTS' V's releases and collaborations since the latter half of 2023

V's Layover continues to garner much praise and love from listeners ever since its release. Boasting six tracks, the debut studio album explored genres like pop and R&B, with the idol's love for jazz sprinkled all over it.

Layover became a double million seller in less than a week of its release, making him the first soloist in Hanteo history to have achieved the feat after 23 years. It recently also became the first album by a K-pop solo artist to have all its songs surpass 100 million Spotify streams. Furthermore, in April of this year, Layover also took home the Favorite Debut Album Award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Following Layover, Kim Tae-hyung was also seen participating in several collaboration projects, including a track with American singer-songwriter UMI titled wherever u r. Fans also witnessed the idol's collaboration with soloist IU in the latter's January 2024 release, Love wins all, where he did not sing but showed off his acting skills in the music video.

BTS' V also launched his digital single FRI(END)S on March 15, 2024. The pop-soul R&B release went on to debut at #7 on the Global Spotify Chart, being crowned the biggest global debut by a male artist and K-pop act in 2024.

With TYPE 1 gearing up for a special ARMY Day launch, fans also wonder if it is a joint release between BTS' V and Jimin, in light of the latter's forthcoming second solo album release with MUSE on July 19 this year.

In recent updates, BTS' V was seen reuniting with the other band members on June 12, when the group's eldest, Jin, got discharged from the army.
