On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the latest episode of The K-Star Next Door, featuring BTS' Jin, was released on YouTube. In the new episode of the popular talk show, Kim Seokjin, or Jin, disclosed the reason for his popularity in the military.

When Jonathan, the host, questioned BTS' Jin about his military fame, the latter responded modestly, stating that he never scolded his subordinates/junior soldiers during his mandatory military service.

“I never scolded them [junior soldiers]. Even though I've been in this field for over 10 years, there's so much I don't know. So I don't understand why people scold others just because they don't know something. If they don't know, just teach them again. And it's okay not to know because sometimes I forget too. That was my belief,” Jin said.

Jin further mentioned that he also spent money on his subordinates, by treating them with meals.

“So I was very nice to them and also spent money on them,” he added.

Host Jonathan covered a lot of aspects during the episode, touching on topics such as Jin's background with BTS, his upcoming album, his fellow members, j-hope's discharge, and music videos. Additionally, Seokjin did a live performance of his latest pre-release hit, I'll Be There.

During the conversation with Jonathan, BTS' Jin spoke about his visit to j-hope’s military discharge. For the unversed, j-hope recently completed his mandatory military service and was discharged on October 17, 2024.

Jin revealed that he received j-hope, or Hobi, after skipping some of his planned work for that day. He said:

“Hobi said its okay for me not to come but it's not easy for other members to get vacation days. So considering that, I thought no one could be there at Hobi's discharge. So, I skipped my planned (work) schedule to go there.”

In the episode, Jin touched on multiple topics, including the prominence of BTS. Jonathan inquired when he first recognized the group's ascendance to fame, to which the idol replied:

"I never really felt that before. After working hard, it became this moment. I've never thought I was successful at any point."

Jonathan also discussed the singer's current friendships, as BTS' Jin revealed that he is close with Baek Jong-won, a well-known South Korean chef and media figure. Baek Jong-won most recently appeared as one of the judges on Netflix's Culinary Class Wars.

When Jonathan inquired further about their bond, the idol explained that he regarded Baek Jong-won as a true buddy. Though the Epiphany vocalist likes texting, Baek Jong-won constantly makes time for phone calls and stays in touch with him.

"I can say Baek Jong-won is my best friend because I've never met anyone like him before. He calls me once a day. I prefer texting, so I don't make calls. But if I text him something, he'd call me. We also play the game together. We always play the same game. I meet him the most among my friends," Seokjin stated.

In other related news, BTS' Jin also made a guest appearance on another talk show, Salon Drip 2. The preview teaser of the upcoming episode was officially released on October 22, 2024, while the full episode will be released on the official YouTube channel of TEO Universe (@TEO_universe) on November 5, 2024.
