"I am really good at shooting!"- BTS' Kim Taehyung opens up about his military life in a handwritten letter on FESTA 2024, making fans proud

On Thursday, June 13, BTS’ Kim Taehyung penned a handwritten letter to fans on the occasion of the group’s 11th debut anniversary. Kim Taehyung opened up about his military life and how he's learning new skills through the rigorous training he is receiving there. The letter was shared at the FESTA 2024.

According to the letter, the BTS member revealed learning martial arts like Judo and Jujitsu, and also proudly spoke about being good at shooting. He revealed creating a bond with his fellow soldiers and receiving motivation from the ones who are younger than him.

He stated:

“I am really good at shooting! ~~~ Receiving a lot of compliments, learning a lot from my Comrade mates in Judo, Jujitsu.”

The Layover singer further revealed that he has had minor injuries while training, but he's not overexerting himself and taking care of it. Furthermore, he has overcome his fear of heights, delighting many fans online. They have taken to X to share their thoughts about the detailed letter the singer wrote for them.

“Super proud of our Captain Taehyung! I’m feeling like a proud mom. He’s such an amazing inspirational young man, truly the bestest person,” — a fan said.
“Extremely proud of our beloved Taehyung! I am so happy to hear that Tae is having a good time and enjoying every moment of it even though it gets really hard at times. Tae always makes the best out of every situation.” — another fan added.
“The way his living his life is so admirable, so inspiring, respect him more and more. So proud of you my captain Korea!” — a fan stated.
“I'm proud of him for taking this time to experience new things and meet so many new people. borahae!” — another fan added.
“Taehyung is working hard and it's good that he overcame his fear of heights. Taehyung stay safe and healthy, we will wait for you and create memories again.” — a fan said.
“I have no words to express my feelings. How proud I am. Tae's letter speaks volumes. This is something you would write and send to family. Taehyung is such a genuine person and treats us like his friends.” — a fan said.

Kim Taehyung began his military service journey on December 11, 2023. The singer concluded the initial five-week training at the Nonsan Training Centre and received another three weeks of training at the Army general school administration to join the Special Duty Team. He is currently serving as a member of the special military police unit.

The military police unit directly comes under the control of the 2nd Army Corps headquarters, in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do Province.


BTS’ Kim Taehyung is working on his dancing skills during his free time in the military

The BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung wrote a letter for the fans as he could not attend the FESTA 2024 event which was held in celebration of the K-pop boy group's 11th anniversary. The For Us singer has been practicing his dancing skills in the military during his leisure time.

He stated that practicing dance during his free time is to not lose his muscle memories of dance routines and also to protect his self-identity. Before concluding the letter, the BTS vocalist wished the fans well and asked them to take care of themselves.

Kim Taehyung is expected to reunite with BTS members in 2025.
