(G)I-DLE added another prestigious accolade to their growing list of achievements at the 2024 Melon Music Awards (MMA) on November 30, 2024. Known for their creative musical direction and empowering messages, the group took home the Digital Song Bonsang (Main Prize) for their hit track Queencard, which was a standout from their 2023 album I Feel.

Fans noted that during the girl group's award acceptance speech, aespa's Karina and IVE's Wooyoung became emotional. During their speech, (G)I-DLE leader Soyeon said that several media outlets misconstrued her contract expiration with CUBE Entertaiment as if the group was disbanding. Soyeon said:

"My contract expired, and these days there are many articles being released that are like ‘(G)I-DLE is disbanding’ or ‘(G)I-DLE is over.’ However, not me alone, but the five of us all decided to renew our contracts together. We had the discussion before coming on stage today. It’s not just me, and yes, it’s all five of us members together."

Soyeon continued:

"The five of us will be together from now on, next year, the year after, and really forever, so I hope NEVERLAND won’t worry. We will give back with good music next year, as well."

The group's fans appreciated aespa member and IVE's Wooyoung for supporting (G)I-DLE. One fan wrote on X:

Fans praised aespa for being the literal "definition of girl’s girl."

"You love to see queens supporting queens," one other fan added.

While others praised IVE's Wooyoung for getting emotional over (G)-IDLE's Soyeon's speech where the latter talked about disbandment, working hard, and more.

"I think the other gg knows the struggle of being idol especially if youre women and to survive criticism from those nasty article and netizen, that’s why theyre crying too. That’s also why I love gg more than bg, being a women in general is also a challenge." one fan commented.
"So happy to see today's idols being close and caring towards each other," another fan wrote.
"If yall watch idols reaction to gidle's speech you'll see how a lot of them were cheering for them when soyeon mentioned about them renewing as a group, some idols teared up too. idle is so loved by people in the industry, you can never trust bitter kpop stans on twt," another fan added.
