Jinny’s Kitchen season 2 co-director Park Hyun-yong shared his thoughts on the possibility of BTS’ Kim Taehyung returning for the show's third season. In an interview with Newsen on Friday, September 6, coinciding with the release of the final episode of the current season, Park Hyun-yong expressed his gratitude to the cast members of season 2, including Lee Seo-jin, Park Seo-jun, Jung Yu-mi, Choi Woo-shik, and Go Min-si.
Kim Taehyung was cast as the intern at Jinny's Kitchen for the pilot season directed by Na Yeong-seok and Jang Eun-jung. Notably, the BTS vocalist could not participate in the second season co-directed by Na PD and Park Hyun-yong, as he was enlisted in the military on December 11, 2023. His place was filled by the new intern, The Frog actress Go Min-si.
When asked about the possibility of V returning for the next season, the director replied (as translated by an X user, @naver_taehyung):
“I don't know yet. I think I need to talk to PD Na Yeong-seok. But if there are people who are looking for it, I think I can show them the results that match their expectations. There are people who are looking forward to it thanks to Taehyung-ssi (V's real name is Kim Taehyung). I think we'll know when the time comes.”
BTS’ Kim Taehyung's advice for junior intern Go Min-si on Jinny's Kitchen season 2
In December 2023, Kim Taehyung left a message for the future intern of Jinny's Kitchen, as he was set to be enlisted in the military to fulfill his national duties. The idol advised the intern to be quick while working as the restaurant demands fast service from the customers.
As translated by an X user, @DaliylofV, the idol said:
“Don’t be slow. You’re going to have to be a bit quicker and make sure to do your job as the newbie.”
In June 2024, Sweet Home star Go Min-si responded to his message during the official press conference of the variety show. She expressed that she was surprised to receive the message and wished that Kim Taehyung would enjoy watching the show.
She stated:
“I'm not sure if I was fast though, but I hope he enjoyed watching it. I will also wait for the day to meet him. Take care in the army. Goodluck!”
Besides this, although the BTS vocalist could not appear on the show, his OST titled Christmas Tree was used by the post-production during the celebration of Choi Woo-shik's birthday in Jinny's Kitchen. Choi Woo-shik and Kim Taehyung are known to be close friends and cast members of the show.
Furthermore, Christmas Tree served as an original soundtrack of Choi Woo-shik’s K-drama Our Beloved Summer. Viewers were able to catch a glimpse of their close bond despite not being together.
What to expect from the director's cut of Jinny's Kitchen season 2?
