BTS’ made an unexpected cameo through their music in Park Min-young's recently aired drama Marry My Husband creating a huge buzz online. Marry My Husband is a time-traveling revenge drama where the protagonist gets an opportunity to travel back in time and change her past.

In one scene in episode six, Park Min-young’s Kang Ji-won and Na In-woo's Yoo Ji-hyuk discussed BTS’ music. Yoo Ji-hyuk found Kang Ji-won listening to No More Dream and revealed his favorite track Spring Day. Kang Ji-won also shared her favorite song was Dynamite, however, soon the two realized something was off.

Dynamite was released in 2020 and Spring Day was released in 2017. Meanwhile, both Kang Ji-won and Yoo Ji-hyuk were currently living on July 10, 2013. Kang Ji-won and Yoo Ji-hyuk then discovered they traveled ten years from 2023 to 2013.

On July 27 at the KCON LA special fan meeting, Park Min-young shared her thoughts on using BTS’ songs as a time slip reference in the drama. She said:

“At first I thought using BTS' music was very unique & a clever idea... But I was concerned about the viewers not understanding the timeline, soon I realized viewers are familiar with their chronological history & release date of their albums so they know better than me... They're all (ARMYs) everyone's ARMY, they know better than me.”

Marry My Husband starring Park Min-young, Na In-woo, Lee Yi-kyung, and more aired between January 1 and February 20, 2024. The drama follows the story of Kang Ji-won played by Park Min-young, a woman who bears the burden of her unemployed husband and evil in-laws, as the sole breadwinner of the house.

Kang Ji-won became a cancer patient and found out that her husband was cheating on her with her best friend. Kang Ji-won is killed by her husband and gets a chance to go back in time before she even gets married.

She plans on taking revenge against her husband and her friend. Meanwhile, Na In-woo played the role of Yoo Ji-hyuk, the chief of the department where Kang Ji-won works. Yoo Ji-hyuk becomes the main supporter of Kang Ji-won as she takes her revenge and secretly likes her.

Park Min-young attended the 2024 KCON LA music festival and held her Special Fan Meeting: Marry My Husband at the Meet & Greet Stage at the LA Convention Center South Hall.

The actress shared some of the anecdotes of the drama and also shared how the K-pop group BTS played a pivotal role in the transition of the developments in the time-traveling drama.

While talking about the viral scene from Marry My Husband featuring BTS songs, Park Min-young also shared her favorite song by the boy group. She stated:

“I like Bom Nal (봄날), it's Spring Day, right?”

Park Min-young’s upcoming drama

According to JTBC news on July 23, Park Min-young was reportedly offered the main role in the Korean version of the Japanese drama The Confidence Man. Her agency Hook Entertainment responded to the report stating that Park Min-young is positively reviewing the offer.

The Confidence Man is a comedy-drama about three people who extort money from the filthy rich and the evil conglomerates using any means. It gained huge popularity in Japan when it was released back in 2018. Reportedly, Hong Seung-hyun will be the script writer of the show while Nam Ki-hoon will serve as the director.
