The Glory star Song Hye-kyo recently addressed the rumors for the first time during her appearance on the variety show You Quiz on the Block. On January 9, You Quiz on the Block dropped a segment from episode 275 featuring Song Hye-kyo on YouTube.

The South Korean actress opened up about how she deals with rumors and malicious remarks after being a part of the entertainment industry since a young age. In a conversation with comedians Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho, she said,

“When people ask me about rumors, I always give the same answer: 'I heard about that too; go ask the person who started the rumor.' I answer like that.”

The Descendants of the Sun star further explained how her directness often creates misunderstanding. She said,

“I’ve fought more than I’ve been misunderstood because of my honesty. People sometimes ask why I speak so directly, but if they feel I’ve been harsh, I apologize right away.”

Song Hye-kyo opens up about hateful comments about her and her family on You Quiz on the Block

Song Hye-kyo is a South Korean actress widely known for her acting skills and performances in several Korean dramas and films. Best known for her roles in Autumn in My Heart, The Descendants of the Sun, and The Glory, she has been a part of the acting industry for over 29 years.

She participated as a guest on You Quiz on the Block in the episode released on January 9, 2025, to promote her upcoming film Dark Nuns. In this episode, she addressed the insulting remarks and hateful comments from anti-fans over the years. The Encounter actress stated that she was okay with the malicious posts, but when the comments involved her family, she didn't feel good about it.

She said,

"I've been insulted a lot. It's okay now. But many bad things happened. It's okay when people write or leave comments like that about me. But when it's directed to my family, it really breaks my heart.”

She further added,

“Thinking about it, since I've been active since I was young, there have always been small rumors or big rumors about me. Because of my job, I've experienced a lot of things like this. There have been times when I've let it slide, but sometimes I think... Isn't this a bit too much?”

Besides this, Song Hye-kyo mentioned how she tries to impress people with her acting when they are not fond of her personality.

She said,

“When people say they don't like me, I understand they don't like me as a person. So I think I should work hard as an actress, so even if they don't like the person, they could still appreciate me as an actress.”

About Dark Nuns

Dark Nuns is an upcoming supernatural thriller film helmed by director Kwon Hyeok-jae. It features actors like Song Hye-kyo, Jeon Yeo-been, Lee Jin-wook, and Moon Woo-jin. The film tells the story of a young Hee-joon who is possessed by an evil spirit and Nun Yunia, portrayed by Song Hye-kyo, who takes it upon herself to save his life.

Nun Yunia is firm in her belief, while Nun Michaela, played by Jeon Yeo-been, is skeptical about getting involved in this case. However, as the two move forward, they learn about the chilling events that occurred at their convent. Dark Nuns is scheduled to premiere in South Korean cinemas on Friday, January 24, 2025.
