On Monday, September 23, Stray Kids member Felix was announced as the new ambassador of UNICEF Korea by the committee chairman Jeong Gap-young. The Stray Kids member has been acknowledged by the committee for his past contribution towards the betterment of children, and positive influence.
The committee also considered Felix's generous donation of 150 million KRW for children's nutrition and his volunteering activity in Laos for this position. He is set to uphold the values of the Korean committee of UNICEF Korea as the goodwill ambassador by participating in several activities to help children across the globe.
He will also spread positive impact with his actions as a part of the committee. According to the Chosun Biz report on September 23, Felix shared his thoughts on being appointed as the goodwill ambassador during the ceremony. He said:

UNICEF Korea secretary general shares thoughts on appointing Stray Kids’ Felix as the goodwill ambassador
On September 23, 2024, Felix, the Australian-Korean singer from the K-pop group Stray Kids became the goodwill ambassador of UNICEF Korea. UNICEF or United Nations Children’s Fund is an organization that promotes the rights of children around the world by adhering to the UN Convention on the Rights of Children.
It helps children around the world through different projects across health, education, sanitation, emergency relief, and more.
The Secretary General of the UNICEF Korea committee, Cho Mi-jin said a few words on making Felix a part of their team during the appointment ceremony. She said:
“We are truly delighted and grateful to welcome Felix, who has always shown active support with pure love for children, as our new Goodwill Ambassador.”
Cho Mi-jin acknowledged Felix's contribution to improving the children’s condition and also stated that he has become an inspiration for a lot of people due to his influence. She added:

Stray Kids’ Felix’s 100 million KRW donation on his 24th birthday
Felix donated 100 million KRW (75,200 USD) in commemoration of his 24th birthday to provide help to children in need. Felix marked his 24th birthday on September 15, 2024 (born in 2000). According to Korea JoongAng Daily, on September 20, JYP Entertainment confirmed the news of his philanthropic act.
The 100 million KRW was divided and given to two different organizations, 50 million KRW was given to UNICEF Korea, while the other half was given to World Vision. It will be used to provide food to children in South Korea and Laos.
The Stray Kids rapper was named as a member of the Bob Pierce Honors Club by World Vision which is only eligible for donors who exceed the 100 million KRW donation mark. In January 2024, Felix made a 100 million KRW donation to UNICEF, and due to this, he was announced as the youngest member of the UNICEF Honors Club.
In other news, Felix is currently on the DominATE World Tour alongside his Stray Kids members. The group is set to perform at Singapore's National Stadium on 28 September, as part of their tour stop.
