On Thursday, September 19, 2024, American singer Max Schneider shared how BTS' SUGA ended up being part of his song Blueberry Eyes, released in 2020. He shared photos and a video on his official Instagram account to celebrate the song’s fourth anniversary.

In his video, Max talked about how he first met BTS' SUGA and how their shared passion for basketball resonated. He continued by saying that it was truly special that he brought SUGA to his first NBA game in the United States.

At that point, SUGA asked Max to sing in his composition Burn It for his Agust D project. Following this, Max asked SUGA if he would like to be on his album Colour Vision, to which he agreed. Finally, Max revealed how BTS’ SUGA became a part of Blueberry Eyes, saying,

“The first song i sent him was actually a song on the album called ‘New Life’ but he wasn’t really into that one, but I wanted him to be on this project badly, I just sent him the whole album and I said whichever song you wanna be on it’s yours. It’s crazy because I wasn’t even gonna send him ‘Blueberry Eyes’ but he ended up choosing that song to be a part of.”

BTS' SUGA reunited with Max during his solo world tour for D-Day album

In March 2024, BTS' SUGA hosted a 28-show solo world tour, D-DAY. The K-pop idol visited 10 cities across the United States and Asia. SUGA had a couple of celebrity guests who joined him on stage. This included Korean musicians like PSY and American vocalists Max and Halsey.

As seen in the behind-the-scenes video, 'SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY' in the USA - BTS,' Max introduced his wife, Emily, to Min Yoongi. The video was shared on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel on March 10, 2024.

Emily assisted Max in selecting a personal gift for SUGA. Though it wasn't shown on camera, she stated that the first gift was custom-made in New York. The other gift was The Balvenie PortWood 21-year-old single-malt whiskey.
