TVING's latest period K-drama, Queen Woo, aired its final four episodes on September 12, 2024. The series starred Ji Chang-wook as King Go Nam-mu, Jeon Jong-seo as Queen Woo, Lee Soo-hyuk, as Prince Bal-ki, Kim Mu-yeol as Prime Minister Eul Pa-so, and Oh Ha-nee as the royal shaman and advisor, Sabee.

The eight-episode K-drama which was released into two parts consisting of four episodes each was embroiled in controversies over intimate scenes and more. The K-drama showcased several intimate and nude scenes of Ji Chang-wook and Jeon Jong-seo, Lee Soo-hyuk, and also Oh Ha-nee with Jeong Wu-mi.

South Korean actress Oh Ha-nee finally addressed her same-gender s*x scene with Jeong Wu-mi, who played Woo-sun (Queen Woo's sister). She told Wikitree News that she wasn't worried about the exposure as it was the demand of the script. However, she expressed that her role was beyond those few scenes.

I wasn’t worried about the exposure. Sabee’s role is significant, so I was more focused on playing the character well. The burden of nudity didn’t weigh heavily on me. All I wanted was to do my best."

She continued by adding that she would be pleased when she would receive DMs where netizens praised her for her acting skills "beyond the nudity."

"However, it’s a bit disappointing that people don’t seem to focus on my acting. It comforts me when I hear comments like ‘Beyond the nudity, your acting left an impression.’"

Queen Woo continues to make waves for its impressive cinematography and several intimate scenes

Queen Woo centered on Woo-hee (Jeon Jong-seo), who battled to ascend to the throne following the passing of her husband, King Go Nam-mu, the ninth king of Goguryeo (Ji Chang-wook) within 24 hours. The storyline addressed the contentious custom of "levirate marriage," in which a widowed queen remarries her late husband's brother to carry on the family name.

South Korean actress Oh Ha-nee portrayed Sabee, a shaman who acted as a close counselor to King Go Nam-mu. Oh Ha-nee became a topic of online discussion for her bold scenes in episode 2, where Woo-sun (Jeong Wu-mi) confuses Sabee for King Go Nam-mu while under the effect of an elixir.

Sabee and Woo-sun then engaged in a passionate encounter that lasted for over a minute, where both actresses were in a state of déshabillé. Sabee lured Woo-sun into the encounter by exploiting Woo-sun's desire and desperation to marry King Go Nam-mu.

Furthermore, the K-drama also got entangled in the controversy for historical inaccuracies based on the show's outfits. South Korean netizens claimed that the show displayed outfits that were similar to Chinese history and C-dramas.

Queen Woo has eight episodes and is available on TVING's official website for streaming. For global streaming, it is also available on Viu Paramount+ in selected regions.
