On Monday, August 5, the annual ISAC event, Idol Star Athletics Championship 2024, kicked off. ISAC is a South Korean reality television program, also known as a K-pop sports show, which has been broadcast by MBC since its inception in 2010. Every year, several K-pop groups, especially popular ones, compete in a series of competitions such as running, archery, and more.
Fans eagerly look forward to the event each year as it reveals the physical abilities and talents of K-pop idols that people are otherwise unaware of. This year's ISAC event held quite a few surprises in store for the audience. ZEROBASEONE's Sung Han-bin, who has already proved his long-list skills since his debut last year, showcased yet another talent in archery.

On August 5, the first day of ISAC 2024, the event kicked off with an oath reading ceremony performed by several K-pop idols from the fifth generation, including NMIXX’s Sullyoon, TWS’s Shinyu, ILLIT’s Wonhee, and NCT WISH’s Sion. Following this, several events were held, including the breakdance competition, archery, and 60-meter race.
NMIXX's Sullyoon impressed the audience with her archery skills as she scored a perfect score of 10, securing a gold medal. In the mixed archery team event, members from K-pop groups belonging to WAKEONE, JYP, and IST Entertainment competed in separate units.
The WAKEONE team, consisting of ZEROBASEONE's Sung Han-bin and Kim Jiwoong, Kep1er's Xiaoting, and Chaehyun, won the gold. In the women's 60-meter relay race, KISS OF LIFE's Julie won the gold medal, while in the men's 60-meter relay race, WayV's Xiaojun emerged as the winner.
However, the highlight of the day was when THE BOYZ accidentally broke the camera placed at the archery board but still managed to score a perfect 10. Additionally, before the first day concluded, BADVILLAIN's EMMA, Chloe Young, and INA took first place in the breakdance competition with a score of 9.7.
