On September 19, 2024, BLACKPINK Jennie released a voice message for her fans via ODDATELIER—her company, where she talked about her upcoming solo album release and reportedly addressed her fans as "RUBI."
Although BLACKPINK's official fandom is known as "BLINK" or "BLINKs," since the members have ventured on their solo endeavors, they have started calling their fans by individual names. For instance, BLACKPINK Lisa calls her fans "LILLIES." Meanwhile, some fans noted that "RUBI" or "Rubies" was also Kwon Eun-bi's fandom name.
For the unversed, South Korean singer and actress, Kwon Eun-bi, debuted as a member of the K-pop idol group Ye-A in 2014. She is well-known by her stage name Kazoo, however, the group was disbanded shortly after, as she further engaged in acting. Her fans are known as "RUBIES" or "RUBI."
BLACKPINK Jennie released an official statement through her company, ODDATELIER, and said,
"We randomly referred to fans by that name on the news page, where we deliver news to fans. We did not officially announce the fandom’s name."
