On Thursday, September 19, the first episode of Mnet's Road To Kingdom: Ace of Ace landed online. The reality survival features 8Turn, Cravity, Oneus, Tempest, The CrewOne (ATBO and Just B), The New Six, and Younite as contestants. Therefore, fans and netizens were thrilled to see what the K-pop boy groups had in store for them.

However, the first episode already received bad reviews, with netizens accusing Mnet of "evil editing" to showcase K-pop idols and groups in a bad light. When all the groups were introduced, they held a card that showcased their ranking, which the fellow contestant groups gave.

When YOUNITE members realized they were ranked last, they were upset. Eunsang was specifically shown to be angered by the incident. The scene shifted to a personal interview with the idol, where he said he would no longer be friendly with the other groups.

"They all placed us 7th. It's not time to be amicable," Eunsang said.

Mnet showed another scene where the idol was unwilling to shake hands with the other group's leader and specifically rejected THE NEW SIX's leader, Choi Tae-hun. While fans were initially unhappy with Eunsang's actions, they soon realized that Mnet might have edited the clips to showcase him in a bad light.

"It’s already starting. ur dumb for falling for evil editing and being a hypocrite knowing damn well this will start fanwars lmao," one person said.
"kpop stans are like "remember mnet loves to evil edit people don't fall for it" and then a new show starts and they are the first who fall for it," said a fan on X.
"I’ll be dammed if ur speaking on eunsang like that btw. clearly majority of yall have never watched an mnet show. it’s normal for them to do evil editing & yall look silly falling for it," added another fan.

More netizens mentioned that they don't want to fall for alleged "evil editing" in Road to Kingdom and are focused on supporting the group's journey on the survival show.

"I saw this as something funny, eunsang was sulking but mnet made an edit like that. be angry with mnet and let there be no war between us," said a netizen on X.
"Also it’s a competition and it’s normal for people to get competitive like that. theyre reading too much into it," stated a fan on X.
"I won't fall for this, they are friends and they love each other," added another netizen.
